Florida bass fishing is poo at best.
Look at methods some trophy bass hunters use and about the only difference between hunting and trophy fishing are tools and location. It is almost difficult to transition between everyday life and bass fishing because of the quiet and quaint world bass live in.... without fishermen

What have you learned this fishing season?
Been there too. You are totally right. Heal well buddy

Power, action and lure
Oh gosh yeah that’s totally outrageous. I know because I researched what a spy bait is in 30sec and can already tell it’s outrageous.

Blade sizes
are those bob toman blades by chance? Had the same issue.

Power, action and lure
That doesn't seem bad at all. I might only have a few disagreements, same as everybody because we are opinionated creatures

Meanwhile up in the way far north, we got guys looking at completely or nearly completely frozen over lakes and then log on to BR and see the article about buzzbaits for cold water bass.

Youve got a lot of passion for the sport. I think somebody would have to handcuff you to keep you from going fishing ?

My Most Productive Baits ~ 2021 Edition
Well if you believe @TnRiver46, December’s pretty good. Today, December meant busting through ice to go fish. Only had a couple hours and got skunked ☹️. I don’t like getting skunked.

Underrated baits?
Nichols bluegill color. Now sure if they sell it outside of Nichols website. Maybe on tackle warehouse. Worked really good in ponds around here. I've since moved on to trying out living rubber skirts, but there is no doubt I caught a lot of bass on that color. Nichols makes a really good spinnerbait

Underrated baits?
Single bladed spinnerbaits in general when not used for night-time use. So good on the drop, so good along the bottom. Smaller ones can be really sneaky. This one and several very similar ones took a serious beating this season for me.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Okay here's what the bait monkey did to me for black friday. The worst part about this is I like the stuff I got so much, that I'm looking at future picasso and aftco purchases now. He is a sly monkey. A lot of picasso and nichols spinnerbait and buzzbait stuff since it was on an additional sale and some aftco gloves were the main features. On the side, I restocked on some sampo swivels and colorado blades from nichols and got many colors of humdinger rubber skirts since I liked the ones that I tried from my last order. I'm very pleased with the AFTCO gloves; both of them fit me very well and are comfortable and warm. Should work great. The Nichols Impulse buzzbaits are a repeat purchase but I liked the sale and wanted a couple in 1/2oz. The impulse's are top-notch. Now... for the picasso spinnerbaits. They were every bit as fine-looking as I thought they'd be. I wish I took a picture of one in my hand before I started modifying them. Guys... the willows have a shallow cup to them. I'd been wondering what companies still produce a "slow" willow... well... there you go. Picasso does. There's not a weak point on these spinnerbaits. Excellent hooks sharp out of the package, great quality blades, and sampo swivels stock. Pictured beneath the group photos are what some of the spinnerbaits looked like after I committed atrocities to them. There is a blue glimmer 3/4 oz, golden shiner 3/8 oz, and gizzard shad 1/2oz pictured in that order. I simply kept all the components that the spinnerbaits came stock with so if I want to use those slow willows, which I definitely will at some point... I have the stuff to do that. Excellent spinnerbaits.

Best A-Rig setup?
Please stop posting about the Alabama rig, especially around winter time. You are going to enable the bait monkey to mug me.

Is Abu Garcia coming out with Gen 5 Revos?
I would like to bump this thread. I’m very curious about this as well. Any thoughts or insights?

Hail to the victors!
?. Dude I love Ann Arbor. Really thought I was going to go to UM at one point. Making it to a future MI-OH state game at the big house is definitely something I want to do at some point. I hear Harbaugh doesn't have to pay for a sandwich at Zingerman's ever again! Lol

If you were the expert...what topic?
Spinnerbaits. There’s always the natural progression of someone’s confidence in a topic though: 1. Only knows very little but is very confident in what they know since they don’t fully understand the topic. 2. Knows enough about a topic to know they still don’t know a lot. 3. Is an expert, but also still recognizes certain caveats to their beliefs and so can at times be less confident. #1 wins debates, lol. I like to think I’m in #2 with spinnerbaits

Hail to the victors!
No indeed. I was born in Ann Arbor, have family in Michigan, and Michigan is the only other college that accepted my bum application, lol. So I am a Michigan fan.

Is it a sin to modify crankbait lips?
Sadly, I don’t think Jesus ever talked about crankbaits in the good book, so I’d say you’re good ??

Super cold water - struggling for bites
I think I made the mistakes last winter of saying too much "I know they're here" and "they just wont bite this", or "they're deep, I see them on my fish finder, they're not shallow." Too much placing blame on one thing and not being free-thinking enough about depth and location and too much free-thinking on tackle choice. If I fished my confidence more and simply focused on location more last winter, I think I would have done better and I'll be working to correct those mistakes this winter break. But, I'm also going to target big ones since this will be the time of year for me to do it, along with prespawn next year. Winter fishing can be a grind but I also find cold water fishing immensely rewarding. It's a mind game, you have to stay positive that the cold water is not going to prevent you from catching them.
