1/8-1 1/2 oz?
Kinda same experience with my spinnerbait rod rated 3/8 to 1oz, moderate fast. It casts 3/8 and 1/2 phenomenally well but 3/4 loads it pretty good and with a 1 oz I'm using a lob cast. Wouldn't trade the rod for anything though

Color that surprised you
I think the flake colors imitate bluegill/sunfish well as well as the overall color of the bait. It's a great color along with watermelon red for me.

Winter is coming
I am thinking of starting to learn to tie my own skirt creations onto spinnerbaits and jigs, maybe buzzbaits. I've got some good bass fishing left to do down south this year. This weekend I'm booked for going on a trout and salmon trip with a friend.

Picking Out New Baits
With what I said about gals sometimes seeming better natural fishers, I’m going to go out on a limb and say, carefully, without generalizing too much, that hypothetically, if dudes can be more prideful than gals, then they can be more apt to tell themselves that what they are doing is right and if they aren’t catching, it’s the lures fault. This ties into what Catt recently posted with Gary Klein. And if a dude is catching, he might think that if he only changed just one thing, he might catch them better instead of staying with what is working. The gal could be less apt to blame the lure and instead thinks that she herself is doing something wrong or that she is throwing in the wrong spot or at the wrong depth. She might find them easier with less experience. it’s a pride thing

Picking Out New Baits
Hasn’t it been said that women are better natural fishers? I dunno what it is. My Mom has used a same slow steady retrieve with a lizard out fishing with me and done very well. A fisherwoman friend of mine uses nothing but a Texas rig worm and hopping retrieve along the bottom. Another one who’s been down to Florida a fair bit sticks with topwater and has caught some true giants. Her favorite lure is a buzzbait.

Winter Locations - Same as Hot Summer Spots?
I'd kinda like to know too. There is a decent pond around here that is really tiny and super shallow but there are some pretty decent bass in there. Another slightly larger and deeper (~9ft max) I know has produced bass up to 6.5lbs. Don't even get me started about my favorite pond (~24ft max).

You got a sentence out, that’s pretty good! Maybe try those typing exercises online. https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/career-development/improve-typing-skills

The loudest squeaking buzzbait I ever heard .
I had a buzzbait already set up with the rivet and blade flat against each other and sanded off with the rivet crimped. Just added the ridges with a pair of wire cutters. Can confirm this thing is very loud. I like it

Shallow Running Hard Bait Suggestions
You could use the rapala floating minnow as a diving surface lure I believe. That's about all I can think of. Buzzbaits seem to work really well for me when it gets super shallow.

Setting the hook?
I'm not even going to discuss stretch because I'm not even sure I understand the supposed - see above post - stretch differences between fluoro and mono and haven't fished with straight fluoro enough to know for myself. What evidently helped me was tightening my drag more than I'm used to when fishing with trilene big game, thanks @Catt. I keep it anywhere from 6-9lbs now for 15lb test, because that line breaks at 22lbs of force. If I feel like I have a big fish on, I can always loosen the drag if I feel it's needed but I shouldn't need to because big game is a beast. Regarding hooksets, I have a tendency to swing straight up, even while sitting in my kayak. When fishing spinnerbaits, I wait till I feel something solid that indicates that fish has engulfed it. That could be very fast depending on the mood of the fish that particular day and how well they like the spinnerbait I'm throwing. I don't focus on reeling in slack for this lure. For texas rig, I do the drop rod, reel slack, and set hook straight up whole deal. For jigs I swing as fast as possible and hard. I don't really know how hard I set the hook on spinnerbaits and texas rigs but I'm not lazy about it at all. Ain't gonna discuss other techniques.

Quick list of baits I can’t catch a fish on. 1.5 year time-Span.
Yeah actually, you make a great point. I had to experiment a lot before I figured out the stuff I like. I guess people say to simplify, but you're not simplifying if there is no complexity to simplify.

Thankyou for teaching me about riprap!
I fished a reservoir with a lot of riprap a lot last year. Jigs were my best lure, year around, day in and day out. Texas rig did not compete for me in that type of cover.

Thank you man :). I only brought one rod with me and focused on finding the fish. Not saying that's why it was good, but I tried to tune in as much as possible to what the fish were doing.

Is it almost spring time ?
Very real concern. I guess it's probably more likely to get in a car accident if you're careful, but scares me a little too. My kayak is extraordinarily stable which gives me a little more confidence.

They brought those back but they appear to priced higher and some reviews say they are not the same as old?? Thoughts?

Is it almost spring time ?
In a month and a half I'll be looking at iced over lakes all teary eyed :(. Mid-march I should be able to fish. I just won't think about all that yet. I've got some good fishing left to do this year down south. Fishing tomorrow and a friend will be joining me later in the day. God bless the south
