  1. Good grief those are whales
  2. Oh yeah, I know Shearon Harris. It has been tough to me too in the past but there are some true lunkers in there as I'm sure you're aware. Haven't fished it anywhere near consistently enough to offer substantial advice but take a look into the areas I circled. I've caught some good fish around there including a 5lber. Talk to some other locals. P.S. You are fishing some heavily pressured waters. Yes it is a great lake but understand that you might have fish slower and with more finesse than you're used to. In the postspawn, I worked a t-rigged senko deathly slow in the areas I circled.
  3. 58-60 degrees here, so same same roughly. Yeah, it was alright fishing yesterday but nothing crazy. They weren't committing to much very well. I still feel like as the water gets colder and colder, my chances of catching a big one go up. So I stick through it. Good video!
  4. Oh my gosh that is hilarious. Just made my day ?
  5. We actually had someone try to take it..... turned into a road chase ?. You wouldn't happen to know about that....??? ??
  6. That’s exactly what I thought when I read the post. Not sure if I can think of anything better lol
  7. Very clear! ?? Back in NC last winter
  8. Well, I don’t throw willows unless I have to (grass). I like to retrieve my spinnerbaits at the speed that they are just barely working parallel to the bottom at whatever depth I’m fishing. When I’m using Colorado blades, this can mean I’m fishing pretty slow, especially with a trailer. My favorite configurations are double Indiana and single Colorado. I have noticed recently that a double Indiana makes an excellent mid-depth spinnerbait that will get bites even in bright sun with no wind. Just focusing on my two favorite configurations, when retrieving up in sight, I’ll throw either a single Colorado or double Indiana.depending on what the fish want. When fishing mid-depth, the double Indiana has been working really well for me. When working the bottom or when using the spinnerbait as a drop bait, it is single Colorado for me without a doubt.
  9. I don't expecting to be using any other line for a while. But @J Francho, generally I agree with what you said about people should not skimp out on line. An example of a little pricier line Ive used is seaguar invisx that i caught on a huge sale last winter. it's good stuff, just have more confidence in big game. I caught my pb on a spinning set up with 20lb power pro and 10lb invisx leader.... with a spinnerbait. Literally just using what I had on hand but invisx and my fg knot refused to let me down.
  10. Trilene big game called and would like to have a talk with you
  11. i am very partial to the gambler burner worm. I think it's an absolute winner. My favorite bait on a light t-rig.
  12. Sure I'll play. I pay attention to what Captain Phil has to say on here so probably a spinnerbait rod, a flipping/punching rod, and a rod to throw a nice devils horse on
  13. Heck yea! Not known here but I was in Michigan before I was in NC. I love MI. Just a little cold for me these days ?. Summers in July are gorgeous
  14. Only thing I’ve heard good things about is their frog. But apparently they do it really well
  15. Same here! Only… in NC. When I come back from winter break to NY again, that is the time of year that I just try to keep myself sane. Thinking of taking up some tacklemaking during that period of time…. Looking to tie some bucktail creations on my spinnerbaits and jigs
  16. Trailer adds buoyancy to the buzzbait, allows you to keep it on the surface easier and allows you to reel it slower as a result. And a zoom horny toad has a lot of drag and lift so will help with that. Hate to say, but could be the buzzbait. Don’t think you’ll be overly impressed with a faster reel. I throw 3/8 oz buzzers with grub trailers usually and reel them on my spinnerbait setup 5:4:1. I get it up and rising as fast as possible using techniques others mentioned
  17. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. This man catches some seriously nice bass
  18. We’ll see, we’ll see. ?. not gonna lie you made me laugh because yes I know it’s a typical response lol. My roommate is also from Ohio. Might give him a little hard time and he does the same to me but he’s one of my favorite people here.
  19. Down south especially I have found that a spinnerbait is a big bass bait for some reason. As opposed to up here in NY where it seems like every fish just wants a taste.
  20. Overall record says we'll come back ?. I'm not worried.
  21. Hey ya'll, Just a couple quick questions out of curiosity. How many of ya'll throw bigger shads raps often? How many of you have thrown them before? Did you have luck? It's been a while since I've tossed shad raps but in the past, they showed up as my most used lure for a couple of time periods. If I ever get back into cranking, one of the first things I'll pick up again is a shad rap. I believe the shad rap 05 in gold is pure magic. What a lure Edit: I should clarify I’m talking mostly about the 08 and 09 sizes
  22. You’re right, you’re from Ohio ??. Go Blue!!
  23. I was obsessed with jigs when I first started throwing them. Thought those and chatterbaits were all I was going to throw. I developed a lot of confidence in jigs. Then spinnerbaits came along... ?
