  1. Get em blue!!! Not looking terrible. Not at all
  2. @RipzLipz I understand the ambiguity. All channel catfish. I think @Bluebasser86 catches quite a few flatheads on artificials throughout the year. I am surprised to not catch a catfish on Badin this winter. That lake is littered with them. I caught many on spinnerbaits summer β€˜22. Again, all channels. I have never caught a flathead. Kinda bothers me actually.
  3. @RipzLipz yeah some channels
  4. Heck yeah. My favorite shad imitation color in that DT line, for sure
  5. Dave Mercer asked the question if Google Earth is the unsung hero of tournament bass fishing. I use it and Navionics to learn about a body of water.
  6. *visible Wolverine confusion*
  7. Just going to leave this here
  8. I have a DT-6 in parrot that catches everything that swims except bass. It has a funny swim to it. The rolling is very exaggerated and oftentimes the vibration will feel close to a colorado blade. I have caught over 20 white bass, 4 catfish, a perch, and a bluegill on this crankbait. Yet no bass. Just felt like sharing. It’s pretty funny to me. Thoughts on this crankbait?
  9. I have the black & red large worm file speed bags. Just checked to see if they are available anywhere still. Looks like no. That’s a shame. I have two and same as @A-Jay the bottoms of them are in really rough shape. Super, super handy bags. Great for my kayak and bank fishing endeavors.
  10. Honest question, how’s the quality of fish you caught on the dropshot?
  11. Probably the last bass of 2023 here for me. Little fatty. Jig fell on a dock staircase. Been tough sledding for me but here’s to a great year and upcoming 2024! 🍻
  12. I love it. While there are some days that I will actually start with something like a shaky head on 8lb test or resort to it…. Especially in the summer….. You will not catch me with a true finesse setup very often. On the right type of lake, that shaky head can be guaranteed bass however.
  13. Uh yeah I like me some of those
  14. And the flip side of my other post. Lures You Used Less this Year. Here is: Lures You Used More this Year. This year has been a fantastic jig year for me and I’ve fished it much more than in years past. My number one bait, particularly for quality, goes to the jig this year. What is a lure that you’ve thrown more this year? What lure exceeded your expectations this year?
  15. In years past I have used a senko an awful lot. This year I only really got back around to fishing them once I got home for the holidays. The rest of the year, I’ve been throwing other stuff. Even when I started using them, the senko has been kind of a disappointment this year. What lure are you using less this year? What lures that you rely on have failed you this year?
  16. @TnRiver46 @scaleface I am throwing the 1/4oz red eyed shad on a spinning rod and honestly, I really like it that way. Doesn’t need a spinning rod, but I think it keeps the fish hooked well and also easy to free fall the bait. 1/2oz and 3/4oz I am baitcaster. Lipless in wood is much more fun than I was expecting. You just don’t know what is going to happen. Is it going to clear the wood? Is it going to snag? Is that a bite?
  17. I have been playing around with this more. Some things I’m noticing… if I feel I’m about to clear a limb, the worst thing I can do is speed up. That can cause the bait to roll sometimes and open a gap for the hooks to snag. If I am coming up to wood from below, often that is fine. The nose will deflect and the hooks will initially be below and then sideways as it clears. But, if my bait is above a limb, the hooks can snag onto it. That seems to be where I get more of my snags.
  18. If the water is clear, I never want to be too close to the fish initially. If the water is dirtier, I don’t care so long as I’m quiet. I avoid pedaling or paddling the kayak if at all possible. I don’t want any fish to know I’m there
  19. @Pat Brown another report from NC. Two small ones on a jig and a lipless today on Badin. Jig was into a laydown and the lipless was off a ledge. I expected to catch more on the lipless, but I will try Pat’s red. Here, I am not seeing bass shallow and could not get bit shallow. Bass are still holding off the bank, but pushed up a little in some places. Water is clear towards main lake but transitions quickly to murky and even muddy in creeks. Lots of shad movement in shallow water towards the evening, however.
  20. Try zagging by making your own creations with spinnerbaits. Modifying stock ones or starting from scratch. I have discovered some phenomenal combinations by just thinking β€œAh, what the heck. Let’s see how this does.”
  21. Fantastic season @Bluebasser86!! I have Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday to fish Badin. Few more trips to ol muddy as well. Weather is lining up that there might just be a good spinnerbait bite
  22. I like an H&H sometimes
  23. Wordle 919 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜🟩 ⬜🟨⬜⬜⬜ 🟩⬜🟩⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  24. I am on antibiotics due to cellulitis so cannot drink 🫀
