Latest Catch Pics Thread
Fished last night 8pm-4am and caught 8, missed several. 6 were in the 3-4lb class. Weirdly, these fish were pretty close to the same size. This is my second limit on this lake and a big upgrade from the last. A gambler burner worm in Backatya did most of the damage. It did not matter to the fish how I presented it as long as it was in the water. They bit it on the initial fall (1/2oz), after I worked it, and while swimming it back to the boat. The largest fish bit on the latter retrieve.

I get crazy ideas sometimes. Size 4.5 is kind of what I consider the standard size for a rear willow. 5 is indeed large. For two dinks, I won’t consider myself a wizard, but we’ll see if the large blade combo gets me some nicer fish

Okay so it’s been a while but as I recall, I used either a 6/0 EWG or a 5/0 mustad big bite worm hook - basically an oversized offset round bend. It’s a massive worm

Smelly Jelly Fish Attractant Question?
What smelly jelly are you using? They make several different products. I recently started using smelly jelly products. What I've found is that I like their liquid formula for masking scent on my hands like suncreen, and then I use their pro guide formula for putting scent onto my baits. I have not had issues with the pro guide formula getting too runny. I use the bass feast scent too, and since I have started using it, bass inhale my baits. I think it is a great product

Sharing the love, @ol'crickety! Thanks for doing that I count 14 fish for that young man. I'm sure it'll be a day to remember for him. And agree with what you are saying... I am mostly self-taught and I definitely struggled to catch that many bass when I was starting out. Heck, I haven't caught that many for a while. Last times were in NY fishing small ponds

iRod 704C on Tackle Tour
I found a Tackle Tour review of the iRod 704C and found it interesting. Generally agrees with my experience with the rod, but I have the Genesis III, not the Air version listed here If there is one rod that has characterized my time in TX thus far, it is this rod https://www.tackletour.com/reviewirodair704ch.html

What are your heaviest powered rods?
Lews 7’3” HF Carbon Fire is what I use for frogging and punching and might be my heaviest powered rod If not, iRod Genesis III Stone Cold Spook and Trap, which is a super interesting rod with a weird label. I use this for c-rigging, swing heads, anytime I want to cast a heavy t rig or jig farther, or ripping lipless out of grass I have 5 “Heavy’s” but none of them are particularly super stout. My iRod Genesis III 704C definitely has some oomph to it, but it takes quite a bit to get there and it is a very forgiving rod that plays fish well

I will spend some more time with the SV-3 and see if the different blade makes a difference or not I will say that the blade combo with the big #5 pulls a lot of drag and the bait still runs good. That’s a good thing- Why buzzbaits work
I asked a few but they didn’t say anything. I’m assuming it was too traumatic for them to talk about I will not stand for the spinner hate! I consider a spinnerbait the #1 bass lure of all time- Your Current Bait Cast Reel for Frogs (Heavy Braid)?

@Gera I officially caught my couple first bass on an SV-3. I used the chartreuse and white one that you sent me. Thank you!! I’ve had trouble getting bites with the stock blades, so I upsized the back blade to a #5 Hildebrandt. Probably just in my head, and I probably would get bites with the stock blades but I’m a nut who likes to change things Nothing special, just a couple dinks, but I’m happy to catch something on a bait someone sent me- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Gambler burner worms and craws came in. I may post a photo later, but let me say off the bat that there are three colors that surprised me with how good they look: cracked copper, red ear, and most of all…. Friendly fire. Friendly fire looks very different than pic on TW- Latest Catch Pics Thread

That’s ?. TW Memorial Day Sale was good. TW generally seems to have their act back together. Service is good and shipping times are back to normal, at least for me - SV-3
