  2. I don't stroke a jig at all and that probably is a mistake
  3. Too easy Case closed, lol
  4. Can’t help it. Mad. So mad right now
  5. Hey y'all, This is something I don't understand. I've used weather underground 10 day forecast for a while now to look at upcoming weather conditions. Here in Texas, the air pressure right now seems inversely related with temperature. I am trying to understand this. Is it due to the extreme heat? The pressure definitely has not been like this at other places of the US that I've been. Let me show you what I am talking about. Here's a snippet of my forecast. Black line indicates pressure. Watch how the pressure changes over the course of each day.
  6. My opinion on this topic is that I have no opinion. Come by, say hello to me, the opinionless shad ??
  7. @ol'crickety set you up an anchor system for front or rear of your boat
  8. That bait is just a big sack waiting to happen. Hooked my biggest topwater fish on that lure. Unfortunately lost that fish when it buried me in grass. I had more success on the devils horse fishing it fast, too
  9. Dude that’s a great bait, no ?
  10. Jeez. It has to be EWG? I agree with 2/0
  11. Take any jig that will come through the cover you are fishing. Cut the inside strands short - almost to the collar. Pick a color that matches your forage. Add a rage menace trailer, no trimming necessary. Done
  12. We don't have to be the best. Just better than you. History has proven it ain't that hard
  13. Big worms do work up North as well. I spent a while in NY and I got some nice fish on magnum sized worms. I didn’t really have a criteria for when I use them, besides that I reserve them for summer. I will say though that up North, at least in NY and MI, in warm water it is super tough to get a spinnerbait off my rod
  14. It's okay. You don't have to explain. I understand you had no choice in the matter. Don't blame yourself. It really makes you wonder doesn't it? This has to be a tough time for OSU fans. ? Watched that game last year while on leave at home for Thanksgiving. I caught the ol' muddy pond record @6.6lbs, killed a decent buck and took his delicious meat, and then watched my favorite football team crush the buckeyes. That weekend was AWESOME
  15. Go Blue!!! Born in Ann Arbor
  16. Yessir I like em too. I like all the subtle little nuances in colors from zoom. Junebug red is a darker hue than Junebug and as another example plum apple is a darker hue than plum. I won’t spend time rotating through a bunch of colors but I will spend time trying to establish what are the hot colors on a lake and when do they work
  17. That was a pretty good morning. I fished for only 2.5hrs because the wind got brutal, but picked up a limit. My first on this lake. I fished three spots. I caught at least one bass at each. First two fish were on a zoom uv speed worm in junebug red. This is while it was still early in the morning. Once the sun came up, I switched colors to watermelon candy, and then got another fish, but it was while I was swimming it. By this time, the wind was already pretty crazy, so I figured since I got a bite swimming, and it was so windy, I should tie on a spinnerbait. I almost didn't bring any, but before leaving I saw the wind forecast and thought, yeah, that'd be a good idea to bring em. The two that I got on a spinner were actually the larger fish. They made it out of dink status. I winched both of them out of bushes. Heavy tackle and accuracy were keys today. I was in some thick stuff. Like the kinda stuff you'd see @T-Billy run 100mph across the lake for, dropping some heavy braid on em ?. I fished a little differently today and I think it worked out for me, but there is no doubt they were chomping today.
  18. I already told you where you need to be fishing and it ain’t those lakes! ?
  19. Thanks. A couple years ago I used to throw the 7” Burner worm non-stop when the water is warmer. Not really sure why I got away from it. As for the burner craw, I like the thick body in heavy cover. That bait is phenomenal in lily pads with a flipping hook. I imagine it’ll do great in any sort of heavy cover, though.
  20. Ticks are mostly fine. Although I once went through a large grass field and got about a hundred small ones all over my chest and legs. Must have been a nest. That was not so fine. But a few ticks? No biggie. it’s chiggers you need to watch out for. Those things are devil spawns
  21. You are a great, honest man to tell everyone that it didn’t go well. Keep pushing brother, hard times make the good times sweeter.
  22. **Major Bait Monkey notice** Don’t know how long this has been going on but Lew’s Carbon Fire rods and reels from Dick’s SG currently 50% off. Rods are $35 a piece. I got two…. With the sale, it is impossible to find a better frogging rod than the 7’3” Heavy Casting right now for the price.
