Swing head with paddle tail
YouTuber BassGeek will tell you it works. I tried it some, but not enough to have solid data. I like a rage menace or magnum menace.

Please let us know how the magnum trick worms do for you. Shaky head wizard linked me to a video on them saying they were a great summer bait

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I decided that I didn’t have enough Gambler lures to justify the Gambler sticker on my truck so I made amends. Bait monkey helped, how nice of him

250$ punch/frog combo for kayak fishing?
Okay so this recommendation is going to be a bit… unique but this is what I use and I believe in it. Get a Lew’s Carbon Fire 7’3” Heavy from Dick’s SG and a Daiwa Tatula 200.

Anyone tried it and what are your thoughts?

Pitchin out of a yak
I recommend learning to roll cast quietly in lieu of pitching, given the kayak that you have.

Owner cps light
Nice. Cool tip on extending life of senko. For myself, I like a small hook to give less for the bass to key in on, and also to slow the rate of fall. I can’t say why but for myself, I do the best with that little 3/0 hook. I will fish this on a spinning rod. I can’t say I’ve had a senko tear much on the cast All up to OP

Owner cps light
Between the three of us, we’ve managed to offer three different hook sizes for the same bait ??

Owner cps light
I think this is the one you are talking about? https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Owner_Twistlock_Light_Hook/descpage-OTLL.html If so, I consider the 3/0 size the perfect hook for a 5” senko rigged weightless Texas-style

Silty bottoms
For some reason, and I really don’t know why this is… I do better with a light weight on softer bottom. When I have hard bottom somewhere, I’m likely avoiding the soft stuff. If I don’t have a choice, as in it’s a silted pond, I will almost certainly be using lighter weights

I went from power fishing to just about 100% finessee
Two finesse techniques that I think have a better propensity to produce bigger bites, and can also be altered to center around heavier gear, are the shaky head and the neko rig. Circle hooks on neko are small and you can use light line but they are also reasonably strong and are open-hook for good hookup ratio. You could put a big worm on a neko rig with lighter line and a small circle hook, and the setup would work

1-2 Punch, Who Still Does This?
I have tried it and don’t believe it makes a difference

Heavy worm/jig rod
A wise man once told me *cough* Catt *cough* that when you can handle a rod prior to purchasing, it’s a good idea to do that. Can feel different reels on it too

Heat exhaustion
Heat index here is 120 today and I cannot avoid being outside. Work is bringing me there. All good, I’ll keep an eye on myself and people I work with

Heavy worm/jig rod
Awesome thank you for your help. I want to say that I’ve seen one of these at Bass Pro before so I’ll look to see if I can handle one and see how I like it
-
Heavy worm/jig rod
Heavy fluoro or mono. Thick cover, sometimes working through both timber and thick hydrilla in one cast or pitch. I want the rod to be able to both pitch and cast well.

Buzzbaits in Fall
I just don’t believe this. I don’t believe it because I think the mood of the fish can change, and they may be in a different mood depending on where they are
-
Heavy worm/jig rod
If it can handle 3/8 to 1 oz well and can punch a heavy jig hook through, I don’t care if it’s like a MH. But if something closer to a H is more appropriate, then I’d go with that Nice looking rod, thanks

I went from power fishing to just about 100% finessee
Sure, might be be reasonable for tournament fisherman but I don’t fish tournaments and many of us don’t Why do I need to set a self-prescribed rule that I need to get an arbitrary amount of fish before I start fishing a certain technique? Lol I probably couldn’t do tournaments. I’d be too hard-headed

Heavy worm/jig rod
Hey y’all, Looking for a rod for heavy Texas rigs/jigs. Mainly because I want to have two rods available for this, one with a heavy t-rig, and one with a jig. I want the rod to cast 3/8oz to 1oz well. I probably won’t purchase this rod for a couple months Looking at Falcon Expert Table Rock (is this a fast?) Daiwa Tatula 7’1 HF Dobyns Sierra Micro 7’ HF Kinda gives you an idea of my price range. Of course I could just double up on iRod 704Cs, but for some reason that didn’t seem wise to me. Open to suggestions

I went from power fishing to just about 100% finessee
If you look at my rod lineup, you’ll see that 4/7 of my baitcasters are “heavy’s”, and I may make that 5/8 soon. I like to say that I didn’t choose power fishing, power fishing chose me
