  1. What is the model of the reel. Let me know this and I may be able to tell you what I can do for it... Tight Lines!!!
  2. Tip Top is probably an Aluminum Oxide shock ring. Should have had either an Alconite upto a Sic tip top there. You won't find a tackle shop that doesn't have an inhouse rod builder try to replace the guides. You will need to take and find a rod builder in your area that can do the replacement work for you, if you intend on replaceing all of the guides. If your replacing just the tip top you can go here for the info on the how to.... http://www.rod-crafting.com/resource/articles/rod-tip-repair.html Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!!
  3. As Bass-Brat stated it will help because of the grease the factories use, but not so much on how much they use but were they use it in the reel. Grease should only IMO be used on the gear teeth and this isn't the always the case with the factory. They use it as a part holder in construction of the reel, on shims, bearing packs, gears, mostly all parts that make contact with one another, etc. Besides being a part holder, this is all to protect the reels from a long container boat ride here, and for storage in damp distributor warehouses. If the reels are cleaned and re-lubed properly the only grease you will find is on drag pads (shimano in some cases), and drive/pinion gear teeth (all reels). Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!
  4. E21 doesn't release their blanks for the custom rod industry. If you really want high end blanks start looking at North Fork Composite blanks (they are the NEW GEN Loomis).Good Luck & Tight Wraps!!!

  8. The one-way bearing (AR) will have to be cleaned and dried out. Then re-assembled without.
  9. iceintheveins, Yes they can be fixed. Ar or one way bearing packs on spinning reels should get NO oil or grease inside them. I am willing to bet that you have been oiling your reel at the spool axel or even in the port hole and the oil has worked itself into the one way bearing. This will cause intermittent working properties in the AR. ..The fix: remove the one way bearing pack deep clean, dry and reassemble dry (in the future keep all lubrication away from the AR) One way bearings in BC reels get a light swab of oil after deep cleaning... Hope this helps you out, if you have the schematic/s for the reel/s it will help in the removal of the AR pack and its replacement... Tight Lines!!!

  14. I find it odd that when some posters start a thread that they never come back and acknowledge the replies they have received. :-? As has been pointed out the reel needs to be carefully removed from the packaging and tried out. Its the only way to know if the reel is bad or not. If it is bad then send it back don't ask how you can fix it, send it back to the retailer or to the factory under warranty.... Tight Lines!!!

  22. Not sure could cause the line to stack to one side on the spool. You will have to line the rod and retrieve the line to see..As a rod builder I would suggest, if you can return it then do it don't mess with it just exchange it. The guides as you look down the rod should be in almost perfect alignment... Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!!
