  1. I wonder if using a local to do a guide replacement would nullify the warranty? :-?

Nice rod Keith, I don't remember that grip....
  3. Ahhhhh thats to bad..... :Aaron is right on...Only one place to get that done E21, unless they have over the counter warranty in the US....Which I doubt.... 8-)
  4. candersen, Thought so.... Have fun pulling those nice smallies with the new rod. Tight Lines!!!!
  5. Spent 4 years chasing the green fish on that body, until the DFG took it over. Max depth at the over flow is 11' now... Last time I was there I was real disappointed as to how much the DFG has cut the trees down from the points and berm's. My best is a spot 3.75lb that came from Capitan's Cove on the east side up the arm before they started cutting all the shade trees on the banks. She came on a 3/8oz Chart/White Tandem Colorado When there early (safe lite) buzzbaits and spinnerbaits in white along any of the berm's (arms). Then as the sun moves up, any shaded spots along the arms with 10" power worms in Black/Blue, or any of the Shad colors. Then slow jigs in Black/Blue with powercraws. Late in the noon sun and wind slow rolling Chart/White spinnerbaits on the points has produced for me. BTW I hate the west side especially after they put in the new diversion arm in front of the creek. Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!
  6. So what was your problem , not enough line or what ? Willing to bet the rod and line was not right (balanced) for the weight of the lure. "Mostly the rod"
  7. The_Natural, Seriously from what I see they are a good looking rod. Hope you get your monies worth out of them.. Tight Lines!!!!
  8. X2... But can you hold back the drool some..... That write up is almost as good as the TT write up, maybe you can try harder next time... Now go out and break one or two even......
  9. I am convinced spit grip does not do ANYTHING for sensitivity. Hey Chaddy how many split grip rods do you own???
  10. Gotta watch out for those cul de sac bass. They are tough ones with only one way out..
  11. Follow the lubrication chart in the reels handbook. Just remember that only one drop of oil (on bearings) and no grease on anything other than the main pinion and drive gears. Good Luck and Tight Lines!!!
  12. Hey ReelMech, I noticed in your signature that you service Quantums. Do you handle Accurists or Energys? All I need is a yearly cleaning. -Ike Yup...... Most all of their BC line up. Very few of their spinning reels.
  13. Sounds like the lure is to light and the line is to heavy for the rod.... What is the line rating and lure rating for that Cherrywood? IMPO a new reel won't help it only stores the line and pays it out. It's the rod, line, and the lure being used with that rod. They need to all be in the ratings setup for the rod. Just my .02¢ from the rod bench. Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!!

KB, Those are beautiful/excellent work! I am curious though what would one of the grips weigh by it'self? Great Work....
  15. Probably a re-brand for WalMart. Fenwick is a part of Pure Fishing try there...
  16. Just about the time you get to start paying for a new baby...... Tight Lines!!!
  17. From memory..... Reference numbers 3, 37, 41, 52, then there are the 2 in the paddles not given a reference number also the bearing on the spool shaft behind the pin. That's 7 bearings, then the Anti-Reverse (one way in gear side plate) is number 8. Tight Lines!!!!
  18. First off the Zaion reel seats are a proprietary material, meaning that Daiwa will not say who makes them. Secondly they are NOT Fuji....
  19. MARSH MASTER, Looks good.. How will the paint and clear coat hold up under direct summer sunlight (longterm)? Have you tested for heat blemish's, peeling, water stain, fish attractant, body acids etc. Let us know when you do... Tight Lines!!!!
  20. I don't have a schematic they won't provide one on this reel. So I can't give any comments on what could be the cause.....If it has spool shaft end shims I would look there, and see if they are worn, if the reel doesn't have them then I am guessing and I don't like to do that... Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!!
  21. While not the guides I use, as stated most all of the guides manufactured today will handle braid. Enjoy the rod..... Tight Lines!!!!
  22. I am suspecting the composite frame is out of shape. If the reel is that new I wouldn't mess with it return for replacement. Just my .02¢ from the bench. Tight Lines!!!
  23. Here is a don't... Don't do anything send it in to Shimano®.... I don't do any DC reels, and I have 25 yrs doing reels. I spoke with Shimano® on the Calcutta DC's and unless you are one of their warranty centers it is advised you send all DC reel's into the factory.. Just my .02¢ from the bench.... Tight Lines!!!!
  24. It comes from old school internet, all caps in a posted sentence is considered YELLING!
