  1. Both built with the TC4 graphite setup.... Crucial is built with Grade A cork grips, 7.9 degree offset Fuji reel seats and Fuji Concept Alconite Guides.... Compre is built with Fuji Concept Hardloy guides, no info on the seat type. Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!!
  2. That's a great way to setup for just thumbs, it's the way I set all of my reels. NO lateral movement or at least on the edge of it. Muddy have you tried sitting in front of a good NASCAR race on TV, with the BC and tried the exercise in setup 101.
  3. These are all great CB rods you see here, but the rod is only a small part of the equation.
  4. Now thats setup!!!!!! Tight Lines!!!!!!
  5. It's a winch guy's your never going to have an absolutely quiet one, besides if I didn't hear something coming from a reel I would think it isn't working at all..... : Great debate, when you guys get it worked out then let us know and we will change our ways.... 8-) I have never lubricated a brake race or blocks/pins. Just my tired .02¢ Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!!
  6. I recommend a little reading..... Basic Baitcast Reel Setup 101 Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!!
  7. Parts are still availible for most all (70's thru today) Garcia® Round Reels...I can tell you that the USA1 is a reel (made for Wallyworld).... What parts do you think it needs..........
  8. I agree... I don't build rods with keepers (unless requested), and always recommend Fuji® EZ Keeper
  9. "Accuracy Is More Important Than Distance" - Kevin VanDam So just to get it straight, all these reels that cast a country mile here, can you actually hit your mark??? 8-)

All rod builders (like myself) have been paying this tax for years now...... It is called, The Sport Fishing Excise Tax: A user tax levied and built into the price of all fishing equipment. Used for fisheries enhancement.
  11. I sell rod tip kits, they are hardloy. For Alconites, as has been posted Jann's, Mudhole, Binghams, all located on my rod sites resource page and all carry individual tips. It is a 6 or 6.5 tip size depends on whether you broke the original off (then it could be bigger), or just replacing it. You could also mic the tip for the size, it is read in 64ths of an inch.... Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!!
  12. No way.......Graphite yes, plastic never....... :-?
  13. It will depend on were the scratch is located, and if you can see the graphite fibers in the scratch. If your just not sure send it back, don't hassle with it.....
  14. Brokejw, What kind of line? If you had a typical Cali fish hit you and you couldn't stop it with the Curado drag system tightened down all the way.... Then you need to fix your Curado' drags........or stop catching Sturgeon with a Curado... ;D
  15. I build on St Croix blanks...... Here are a couple of rods that might work well for you, and fit your price point. When you get your new reel, take it to a tackle shop these two rods are always in the racks, mount your reel on them, and see what you think... PC60MF 6' M Fast, Line: 10 - 17, Lure: 1/4 - 3/4, Rod Wt. 3.8, MSRP $100.00 PC60MHF 6' MH Fast, Line: 10 - 20, Lure: 3/8 - 1, Rod Wt. 3.9, MSRP $100.00 Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!!
  16. daviscw, When you have the reel in your hands, take a trip to the local tackle shop and ask them if you can mount your reel to different setups. This way, YOU, are the one that feels the system in YOUR hands, and can detect if it is the best feel for you. There is no way anyone here is going to know for sure if a 6' rod will balance a RevoS or RevoSX and feel right in YOUR hands. This is something your going to have to do for YOURSELF. Also you give no details as to what the system is going to be used for (t-rig, sml/jigs, etc.) Just my .02¢ Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!!
  17. Pros: Made from an extremely hard but flexible "Shape Memory" nickel titanium alloy, which does not require plating, cannot corrode in any environment, and returns or "RECOILs" to its original shape after repeated deformations.. Cons: With braided lines in heavy fighting conditions they are very noisy. Field tests have shown that they can be groved by braided lines... Especially older lines that have picked up silt and debris, and it has imbedded into the line. This will over time if not changed out grove the guides and tiptops. Just my .02¢ in a builders field testing. Tight Lines!!!!!
  18. Yup cart7t got the 7' HF. He should get it today sometime.... I do still have two 6'6" ers up, they are medium heavy and heavy powered.... Working right now on the grips for 2 more, a 7' medium, and, 7' medium heavy..... ;D Then I will get another 7' heavy up. Tight Lines!!!!
  19. Only one other way would be to cover them up. Mix up some finish and add some (blank color) Taps pigment to the mix and cover it up. I do agree with flechero, Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!!!!
  20. An old 80's Shimano® FX2500 with rear fightin drags and trigger, mounted to an old 80's Shimano® Beast Master spinning rod. Maybe $40.00...... Caught my first and only DD (10.27) bass on Lake Hodges San Diego on it. That's my most expensive....... 8-)
  21. bilgerat64, I have a ton of reasons I don't like it, the just of it is.... 8-)I used it in my shop on Quantums only back when they first released it. It is not what they claim it to be. It dyes all the parts it touches red, leaving you to think that the oil or grease is there when in fact it isn't, it rinses out easily in a rain or if the reel gets dunked, the grease gets slung off of the main and pinion gears, with normal cranking speeds and does no good at all in that area of the reel.. I have since stopped using it (even in PT reels), and have never had a complaint. Just received a RevoSX yesterday that fell into the water, angler cleaned the reel and re-lubricated it with Hot Sauce... Now the reel feels and sounds like it was never lubricated. This is the result of Hot Sauce lubrication.... Just my .02¢ Tight Lines!!!!
  22. The number one problem with personalizing a rod...... 8-) Use a hair dryer on the hot setting, held far enough away not to over heat the rod blank (300° will soften the rod blank). Then use a single edge razor to carefully slice the epoxy covering the inscriptions. Now using a fingernail, peel the epoxy off of the area. Many times what you think is actual handwriting is in fact a decal. If this is the case you will need to carefully remove the decal and clean up the blank. Here is the rub, if the blanks have a glossy finish on them, when you remove the epoxy covering the inscription area's, then it will most likely remove the layer of blank finish all of this was sitting on, leaving a matte looking area that you will have to re-coat, and I think i'm safe in saying you have no experience in re-coating rod blanks.... My recommendation would be to find a local rod builder, and have it done..... Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!!
  23. Bring one by, and i'll break it down, and we can see for sure ourselves....
  24. SimonSays, Our Technician will determine whether to repair or replace your rod keeping in mind we'll only repair it if we can make it perform like new.
