Lower Unit Problem
The screws on my lower unit are always really tight and take some real pressure to get them off. I use a Leatherman with flat head bit at a 90 degree angle. This helps to apply pressure and gives you a lot of turning force. Try it out you might be surprised.

Livewell Help
Me and my fishing partner used to do this for our small boat club. We had a cooler and two bubble boxes. we drilled holes in the top of the cooler for the bubble box lines and mounted the boxes on the side of the cooler. We never had a problem keeping 5 fish alive. the only part the sucked was filling the livewell. We had to fill it with a bailer bucket.

boosting the power of an outboard
Yes, especially if you are having a hard time getting on plane. I bought one for my Carolina Skiff that was having a hard time getting on plane and it dramatically decreased the time to plane the boat.

Depth Finder Interference
Currently I run my console unit to a fused power block under the console. Will it be ok to run the bow unit from the powerblock if I use a different fuse than the current one?

Depth Finder Interference
I want to use two depth finders on my boat and want to know if I am going to run into trouble with the frequencies. I have a Humminbird 565 on the console and I want to put either a 525 or 535 on the bow. If I run them simultaneously will I get interference on the units. Both will most likely be hooked to the same battery but may run the bow unit to the trolling motor battery. I want to be able to see the depth and temp on the bow and have my partner be able to see the depth and temp on the console. Thanks. Operating Frequency ............ 200 kHz Single Beam (515, 525 and 535) 200 kHz and 83 kHz Dual Beam (565 only) 200 kHz/83 kHz/455 kHz QuadraBeam PLUS (575 only)

About how heavy is a 5-inch hollowbody swimbait?
Maybe 3/8 oz, but just a guess. You can expect to add as much weight with a keel weighted swimbait hook added.

Two questions...
Question 1: Yes it will still drain. My overflow drains below the waterline and works just fine. Actually my drain and overflow is the same outlet. Question 2: The best product I found is called West System #101 Repair Pack. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/producte/10001/-1/10001/28493/377%20710%204294967141%201823%20993/712/west%20system/Primary%20Search/mode%20matchallpartial/0/WMPrice|1?N=377%20710%204294967141%201823%20993&Ne=712&Ntt=west%20system&Ntk=Primary%20Search&Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&Nao=0&Ns=WMPrice|1&keyword=west%20system&isLTokenURL=true&storeNum=95&subdeptNum=674&classNum=674 I used this on my Dad's boat that had a hole in the keel of an aluminum boat and it sealed the hole completely.

Browning Citori Problem
thanks I will try that out. The pic isn't the greatest all I had was my camera phone. So from what I am taking from your response is that new parts wouldn't fix the problem because the brakes are prone to this?
-
Browning Citori Problem
this is an older reel. BEen out of warranty for probably 2 or 3 years. I just want to know if I can fix this problem without buying parts or if not do I need the brake shoes or the race that brakes rub on.
-
Browning Citori Problem
Yeah I tried that it actually seemed to make it worse.

Browning Citori Problem
I posted a few weeks ago about a Browning Citori that was rough for a split second during a hard cast. I have narrowed down the problem to the brakes. When the reel is in free spool I have no problems but as soon as I put the brakes on 1 the problems start. Here is a picture of the braking system. Any ideas on how to fix this.

What does your name (Handle) mean?
Mine is the abbreviation of my website that I have not had the time to update in a while. I had to add something to end because the username couldn't be the same as the login name. So I changed it from CFFF to CFFF 1.5. I didn't like CFFF1 or CFFF2.

Computer Help
check the gateway website for the correct drivers. You should be able to look up drivers using the laptop serial number or product number to ensure you have the right drivers.

beginner needs some advice
i would recommend getting the carbs cleaned. My boat had the same problem. would start first time at home but would take forever to start at the ramp and then would run like crap. got the carbs cleaned and starts on the first crank when in the water.

New to Redfish
You will be just fine. My buddy's dad used to fish the lagoon in his flat back aluminum canoe with a trolling motor and a paddle. Me and my used to fish the lagoon every weekend before fishing for reds got real popular. We fished out of a 14'6" Grumman Boat with a 35 hp evinrude. For a Poling platform we just put a coller as far back as we could on the back deck and used that as the poling platform. My dad also made his own push pole out of a 12' x probably 2" round piece of wood (looks like it would be used for a closet clothes rack) and made the end out of pvc pipe. It was a cheap set up but the push pole is still going strong today. I have had to replace the pvc but other than that it still works. It's not as light as the $300 fiberglass push poles but this one works and is cheap. You will be fine in a 14' boat.

Hook Sharpener
I can do that, but what do you guys do with baits that don't have an o-ring holding the hook to the bait. Specifically crank baits and topwater baits. Do you just add an o-ring to the bait? are you talking about like on heddons and other classic lures? cut off the stock trebles (they're usually junk anyway), put on some split rings (thats what they're called, O-rings are plastic or rubber gaskets) and put on some quality treble hooks. on jigs and spinnerbaits where the hook is attached to the bait, i use a dremel with an aluminum oxide grinding bit to touch up the hook. Yeah my mistake on the "o-rings" don't know what I was thinking. It has been a long week with little sleep. I meant split rings, but I think you got the point anyway. I don't necessarily like the idea of adding a split ring to a bait that doesn't already have for the reason that it can change the action or the way a bait sits in the water. I'll try both and see which I like better.
