  1. If he had a top notch angler like you chasing him all day then I'd say that's a good sign that he's about ready.
  2. I hope all goes well, and you're able to get back on the water.
  3. Looks every bit of 6 lbs. Nice fish!
  4. That’s pretty cool! Nice job.

He can start introducing himself like James Bond does. Name's Dinks...22inch Dinks. 🤣 Congrats on the PB, man! Nice fish.
  6. I use a fury a lot when I'm bank fishing. I try to be careful with my stuff, but it slides around in the back of the truck, has been dropped on the ground, or banged on tree limbs, rocks, etc. I have not had any issues in the 4 years, or so that I've had mine. It's been solid.
  7. @BrianMDTX, you're getting pretty good with that jig! 40+ fish from the bank? Nice job @thediscochef!
  8. Your humility is one of your endearing features, but we recognize your skill, and dedication. There is truth to less pressured fish being, well...less pressured, but nobody catches as many fish as you do, as regularly as you do by luck alone. There are many, many impressive anglers on this site, and you are one of them. Regardless of fishing pressure. I think @Bluebasser86, or @Team9nine could catch fish in the desert. @roadwarrior could throw a Senko into the Sea of Tranquility and catch a bass on the moon. @T-Billy has caught half of the Muskies on earth...twice. @TnRiver46 can name every species of freshwater fish there is because he's caught them all. Seems like @AlabamaSpothunter catches a 7 pounder every day before breakfast. @A-Jay, and @Dwight Hottle are smallmouth Jedi Masters. @WRB has probably caught more bass over 15 lbs than all of us put together. @Glenn knows how to catch bass in every way imaginable, and has videos to prove it. There are many other names I could list here, but if we took odds on who would catch the most fish...you'd be the favorite. PS - Please don't be offended if your name is, or is not on this list. It's not meant to be an exhaustive list of quality anglers on this site. Too many to list them all.
  9. We've never met, but based on your BR personality, I'd venture to say that there are plenty of reasons people let you fish their waters. At BR you're in a mostly male group, you out fish us all...by far, and everyone loves you for it. You genuinely enjoy fishing, you work hard at it, you are very skilled, and you encourage/inspire others along the way. I feel like that has more to do with it than age.
  10. If it was magic it seems like it should make me look better! It'll probably take until the iPhone 3000 to develop that kind of technology though. 🤣
  11. I thought it was going to be a 6 pounder based on how it fought. I guessed 4.5 when I saw it, but that’s not what the scale said. I’ve never checked this scale’s accuracy. Scales rarely say what I think they should though. 😂
  12. I've been trying to decide where to start with describing my fishing trip yesterday. It was a highly anticipated trip since it's the first time I've been on a boat in about two months. It got off to a tough start when one friend who was going couldn't make it due to car trouble. Once we launched the boat everything seemed ready...except the fish weren't biting. We fished three miles of prime shoreline before we got our first bite. That bite was a small, but ornery spotted bass. At least we wouldn't be skunked. We tried the other side of the river, and managed one more small fish in four more miles of prime shoreline. Then we decided to try fishing deeper. It feels strange floating down the middle of the Tennessee River fishing unseen structure, but with modern electronics it can work. We caught a few little smallmough, a couple more small spots, and one random sauger. Still nothing exciting so we decided to eat a sandwich while we formulated a new game plan. We decided to fish the more shaded side of the river one more time hoping the fish might be drawn to the shade since the air temp was in the upper 80's, and the water temp was in the mid 70's. We made a good choice. We caught 6 fish in the first 5 hours of the trip, but we ended up catching 12 more in the last 3 hours. The bite was very subtle all day, except for the one pictured below. This was the best one of the day, and there was nothing subtle about her. She put up a great fight. She was 3 lbs 10 oz, but punched way above her weight class. When I set the hook, she didn't budge until she ran the opposite direction of the boat. When I got her turned around she came out of the water like a missile. It took several tries to get her in the net, but we got her. My partner ended up getting one pretty similar in size late in the day. On my way home my wife called to tell me that her parents wanted to take the kids out on the boat, but she didn't feel like going. I'd already spent 8 hours on a boat, but I'd love one or two more. A full day of fishing followed by a beautiful evening cruise with the family. What a day! I feel very blessed to have had such a day. As the sun was setting I thought to myself, "If this is what retirement is like I need to find a way to get there sooner!" 🤣 We missed the friend who had to miss the fishing trip, but hopefully he'll make it next time.
  13. @FryDog62 I bet that experience was worth the entire bottle of Advil though. Beautiful fish!
  14. TMI, Murph...TMI. 🤣
  15. Your videos are always great A-Jay, but this may be your best yet...and what makes it great has nothing to do with that monster pike. Glad you are able to have such a special day. Hopefully, with more to come.
  16. Chuck Norris calls @T-Billy for Muskie fishing tips.
  17. Wow! 75 in one day?! That's a good year for some. Congrats on a great day!
  18. Alabama...which is why I never expected to see them here.
  19. @roadwarrior Looks like a good list to me. I got a couple of strong follows with a spook, but no bites. My most productive lure recently has definitely been a brush hog in root beer pepper green. I also caught a couple slow rolling a silver & gold swim jig with a sexy shad paddle tail trailer a couple weekends ago. Good luck! Man, I wish I could go with y'all.
  20. Unfortunately not. I didn't get to go today. I would've called you if I'd caught those today. 🤣
  21. I've always thought of seeing the northern lights as a bucket list item. I never thought I'd see if from my driveway. It is an impressive event.
  22. Finally got to fish a little. Caught 4 little ones, all about this size. All were caught on the same color brush hog. Brush hog - 4, every other lure - 0. The good news is that it broke a three trip skunk streak.
  23. At least half of the fish I catch are caught from the bank of a highly pressured lake. There are plenty of days when I catch nothing, but some days it pays off nicely. Here are a couple nice ones that I caught on my lunch break. Even if I don't catch a fish on my lunch break trips, I still get fresh air, and exercise. Can't beat that.
