it is shocking to me how often i take my ball cap off and on during a fishing trip. it's like the exclamation mark for a lot of my activities. if i miss a strike i take my cap off and have been known to spike it into the floor of my kayak. stuff like that. the head mount would be a disaster. i run the chest mount. the cons are easy. it is anybody's guess which way it is aiming at any given moment. and when i strip off jacket layers, there is yet another layer to contend with.

my gasoline bill eclipses my electric bill. even with a single EV in our family fleet of two cars.

hahaha.. i am going to put lights on my truck. just a single strand.

YUP. i need to burn this into muscle memory. thumb pressure. i was a hot mess. the tap of the bass taking my tiny bait is burned into my memory like "prom night".

i take the rocky treacherous, nasty trail. AKA the "high road". sucks to always be the ambassador. sometimes i just want to aim my boot at someone's nuts. but i dont. in the end, my home is my sanctuary. i will move heaven and earth to keep the peace. i would knock on the dudes door after everyone gets a cooling off, and try to work it out.

i have my BFS on the Phenix Feather rod. i think it is a 7'1" light rod. flings anything out there. i think it might be on the heavier side of BFS. but it works. i have used it for micro texas rigged worms and it is almost scary. i had a big bass grab it and it owned me. while i was messing with the drag, it bent my hook and shook it all.

yup. and he uses those egg-beater mtn bike pedals with teeth. dang near scales a fish when they slam against them. that cant tickle.

Ugly Stick makes a better rod than Huffy makes a bicycle. Jus sayin. ugly stick is playing the same numbers game. Totally understandable. BR people are not the target demographics.

i'm about to buy a few Ugly Sticks. i want some inexpensive ocean rod i can take into the ocean with. on my kayak. just rock fishing. lings and things. i fished Lake Huites, Mexico with nothing but Ugly Sticks. i was young and dumb, but mostly poor. we had 200 fish days, and they got it done. the other fisherman all had high dollar stuff, but reconiized our enthusiasm and showed my brother and i how to fish Texas rigged worms. they never made fun of our gear.

i drive a VERY OLD 2006 Toyota Tacoma. Access cab, so the rods fit inside. my kayak fits in the bed. i wish i had better MPG. BUT i havent had truck payments in almost forever. almost two decades, so there is that.

at least he is very very good at Math. he has those clickbait titles like, "90% of fisherman suck at this..."

what time is it? oh, i know! Pie-o'clock. made a pecan pie yesterday. i cut way back on the sweet stuff, and up the pecans.

sucks. anything i catch, i immediatelty think it is covid. hahah. my superpower is the ability to sleep. i start to feel funny, i get to bed and just crash. i always seem to wake up feeling much better.

one of my favorite online personalities will occasionally boat flip a bass. I grimace when the fish is slammed against things like the kayak or (worse) his pedals on his kayak. I personally cannot control a squirming fish.

I like what B-Lat said about Kayak fishing. "It's hard!" hahahha...yea, its hard. I would say way harder than from a boat.

bass fishing to me is self humbling. but I do agree with Randy on this one.

our latest and current rain event is like the clouds have an enlarged prostate. raining in morse code. I dont think we have exceeded 1" yet. just enough to jack up my yard, get my dog to put paw prints throughout the house, and make my truck really wet. yesterday, I was compelled to drive my 94 year old neighbor to her crafts fair where she sells her knitted products. there were 3 accidents along the way. I went back to pick her up and load her wares. drivers here are not adverse weather drivers.

lately around here, the water is so low you can't even launch a boat at some ramps. my kayak, skates hard earth headed to deeper water at my favorite launch at Clearlake. you would have to push-pole a bass boat out of the channel. and then there are the juicy no-boat lakes.

I'll refrain from posting my list, since I already tarnished my rep with the "Toyota Prius" thread. in my defense it is all over the place. I do get some anxiety right before sleep, and my Bose headphones and some more gentle, happier music seems to knock it down. music = lights out.

I love that violin string sound the braid makes going thru the thick stuff. LOVE. and that tight-a guitar string sound when a bass grabs on, and I set the hook? LOVE!!

we moved to a new city 7 years ago. We kept our dentist. He is that good. Wife and I put our appointments back to back so we can come in together. We get a good lunch afterwards. My bosses know I need the day off. Haha. It’s a 1.5 hour drive each way. Totally worth it. she went first today, so I have the time to question my past 6-months of home oral care. I’m a grown man and the dentist still causes some anxiety. I waited in our EV and watched Netflix, but I came in and now I’m in the waiting room. Palms sweaty. my dentist is a hardcore basserman, do we will at least share photos. gah. Dentist. (Shiver)

Mine was very clacky out of the box. I tightened it ever so slightly to reduce side to side and it casts like a dream. It’s a pitching favorite of mine.
