If you could have only one rod and reel
Out of my sticks it'd be the MHF SC5 Legend Elite blank that is stretched to 7'10" with a Metanium DC on it. I would just forego finesse and have fun.

Engine cut switch off law now active, kind of
$10 says the guy approached the dock was thinking he was in reverse and added some gas then freaked when it went forward and gave it more. The news was quick to point out there was no alcohol involved, just new boater covid stupidity That is my wives job

Heat Exhaustion or Heat Stroke ~ Know the Signs
Beer makes heat stroke better. ....I mean you better be super careful if you add alcohol to the mix. I've watched that "bear" take out a bunch of people.

What is a reman power head exactly?
Feeling safe and protecting your investment are two VERY different things. Personally if my motor needed a powerhead I would install it myself. I don't trust ANY dealers in particular right now since they are swamped with Covid craziness and short help.

Night Bassing ~ A-Jay's Version
I will add that I am not a fan of cap lights or things you wear on your head...in particular if you are fishing with someone else. Instead I opt for boat illumination, but with dim indirect red light. Having the boat illuminated and your eyes adjusted to red seems to also help with the white stern light, although avoid looking at it as it will still stunt what you see for a while. Here is my lighting setup, where you stand it is all indirect and if you need to retie you can get closer to it.

What is a reman power head exactly?
The new XS are 4 stroke, not sure what year this started. I would ask for documentation on what "reman" they used. If it came from Merc, they fixed the hanging injector and bench tested the rest I would be confident in it. If it was reman'd by someone else, no work on the injectors I would run away.

Amazing no one was hurt. Unbelievable.

What is a reman power head exactly?
Knowing how many hours was on it before the reman would be good. Fundamentally it is a rebuilt motor with new Pistons and rings.

Finesse/wacky
Instead of tying one on you can attach the swivel to the fixed object and put your hook through it.

I wear mine on my wrist like a bracelet as well...but I have a tiller so it is the only part of me that is always right next to the motor. If they made wearing them on your wrist illegal I'd be ticked.

Fishing on holiday weekends?
When did they change that law? Used to just be possession.

Considering a custom rod...
The sole reason for going custom is to gain performance. In your case the trick is to define what performance you want to gain. Go longer. Short sticks never feel that way unless they are underpowered. That isn't a ML, but again I think you are confusing things. A longer stick rated for the weight of the baits you want to throw is what you are defining so far. That being said you aren't giving us all a ton to go on.

2021 Minnesota Fishing Season
Find Moby Dick? Bass have retreated from their nests on the East side of the lake, Sunnies on the other hand are starting to stack up. I assume where you are is even a bit further ahead.

Ranger RT178 review
How is the single talon for holding? Most of what I would use a talon for is anchoring in shallow water for a short period of time while I fan cast/change lures to dissect an area and move on. I have a kicker so I can only have one. Curious on how many 3700's the front compartment would hold, what length and number of rods in the locker. I obviously just bought, but have a couple friends that I think would be really well served by one.

WRITING IS ON THE WALL
I answered, you chose to read what you wanted from my post instead of what I was saying. Never once did I ever mean to imply that the current policies or the current state of battery tech is enough. What I was stating is that from a consumer perspective regardless of that the technology is rather exciting and logical. There are a lot of growing pains to make it sustainable, but it is heading that way and there will be new tech that makes that possible. I support a ton of upcoming battery developments that will change that paradigm. The current units are far from "green" but there will be a day not that far off where that balance will shift. All it takes is a drive and it'll make you want one. Regrettably the current real choices are mostly Tesla's or dumb downed slow cars and the Tesla build quality is almost surpassing 1980 VW's. Took them off my list for now, but if that weren't the case I would definitely have one as my daily errand car. The new CTx-Blackwings (albeit sedans and not sportscars) are offering a manual. Wish they wouldn't have sold out before I could get an order in.

Favorite Ice cream thread!
There is no such thing as an ice cream that is worthy of being a favorite. Hell I haven't found one worth eating yet.

What’s your favorite loomis 4 power rod?
844. The 904 is an abomination. Terrible rod. Wish I wouldn't have had it built.

WRITING IS ON THE WALL
Lol, not what I said. Was answering solely based on the consumer side.

What length rod for kayak fishing?
If I only bring one rod it will be a 7'10" rod. If I bring more that one still comes.

WRITING IS ON THE WALL
Add the words "as a consumer" to my sentence. Although it is obviously a fact if you don't have a place to charge it then it doesn't make sense for you.

WRITING IS ON THE WALL
Real cost is valid, but after subsidies that is often an advantage of electric cars atm. In particular if you have a particular performance metric to hit. Works on either extremes. As long as the range is enough for what you need the budget ones are really cheap per mile and if you are like me and only shopping for sub 4 second to 60 cars the electrics become a bargain. Of course when the range/refill time metric gets better the costs will as well.

WRITING IS ON THE WALL
Outside of range and the time it takes to refill there are almost no downsides to electric. Those two will be overcome and when they are the ICE will pretty much go away. Yes, I love the sound of a real engine but I also like torque at 0 rpm.
