  1. Just dunking them to de-ice 'em.
  2. 31 and snowing sideways this morning. High of 36 with on and off snow squalls all day. Guide buddy took this pic of us at the launch. We were the only two boats on the lake. Two muskie, 37" & 38", bringing Team Tim & Tammy to 109 for the season with a few weeks left to fish. I'll fish well below freezing if I can get 'em trolling or jigging. Fighting iced guides and frozen reels gets old quick. I don't mind being out there in the cold, but I'm not breaking $300 reels to catch a fish or two.
  3. No big's but we each caught one. 37" for her and a 38" for me. Both on the rig. On and off snow squalls all day, but the wind never got much over 15. We had a fun day. The big shad schools are starting to form. The offshore rig bite is fixin to go down soon!!! My guide buddy took this pic of us at the launch this morning.
  4. We got our first dusting overnight. There's a little more on the way. Might be muskie fishing in the snow today. High of 36, blowing 10-25. Fur hat day!!! The wife's gonna brave it for awhile this morning. I just ordered her a Striker Ice coat and bibs set yesterday. She says she's gonna fish through November with me this year. Gotta keep momma warm and safe.
  5. I think that would probably work well. Some walleye guides swear by it as a scent attractant.
  6. I'm with Dwight on this. Use a bigger bait on the center wire than the baits on the dummie arms.
  7. Predator fish follow bait fish, but not every school of bait is holding fish. If I'm not marking fish on a school of bait, and I'm not getting bit in pretty short order, I'm moving on to find another school.
  8. Those figure 8 bites and the following chaos on a short line sure get the blood moving don't they? 100 is still possible this year Katie. I'm currently at 91, still have a few more weeks to fish, and I'm on vacation for 10 days here in a couple weeks. Tammy has caught 16, so together we've put 107 in the boat so far this year. The A-rig bite is currently heating up. The shad schools are getting bigger as the water cools. Hopefully I'm fixin to go on a tear. 🤞
  9. I'm an outlier at BR because I hardly ever fish for bass anymore. I caught a bad case of muskie fever, and there ain't no cure.
  10. Great to hear, and thanks for the update. As always, the prayers continue. 🙏
  11. I've done this a few times. I'm a slow learner. 🤦‍♂️ Last spring a friend took his son in law out for his first musky fishing trip. S.I.L threw my friends brand new $600 combo in the drink, in 30' of water. Still hasn't replaced it. I think that was his first and last trip.
  12. One of the best cranks ever IMO. They put a pile of fish in my boat over the years.
  13. I stopped watching when they started kneeling. Haven't missed it a bit.
  14. Congrats Dwight!!! What a beast!!!
  15. Very important to the kids as well, on several different levels, when done right. #QUALITYTIME
  16. @Dwight Hottle, the way those goby eaters are built is a sight to behold.
  17. 14 years sober now, but back in the day it was Bushmills Original.
  18. I have one. It does a fine job of pulling bass out of cover. I'm a fan of both the Tharp and Invoker series rods from Ark. I have most of 'em and have been impressed with the quality for the $$$.
  19. I rock my crocs with socks even in the summer.
  20. I'll keep your dad in my prayers Katie. 🙏
  21. Congrats on another awesome year Katie!!!
  22. Hmm... Seems some days I'm a wacky rigged weightless senko. 😂
  23. Sometimes it's a matter of minutes, sometimes it's months. I can catch bass on a beaver from ice out till ice over.
