I called it a night in the 3rd.
  2. If I saw right they are predicting up to 10” down New Orleans way, looks like a stay home day or 2.
  3. No I’ve a if this will help but… My Bass Raiders have 1 lower on each pontoon used to drain the same if one gets water in the pontoons, those I plug. The third is the scupper hole that is above water level to drain the floor between the pontoons, that one is left open. It’d help if you showed the location of the plugs on yours. I don’t have live wells. If
  4. Big to me is over 6 lbs, I’ve had 2 in however many years I’ve been fishing.
  5. I use WileyX Omega’s. As I use them a lot I opt for the WileyX lenses, I’m on my 3rd pair over maybe the last 10 years and have never gotten a scratch on them, unlike my daily glasses. Having progressives I use an optician as opposed to mail order.
  6. Good point. I’ve wondered why they haven’t serveyed the ponds I fish since the early 80’s, so much for management.
  7. Reminds me of ocean striper fishing, boat or shore.
  8. I don’t recall having one break off other then when I get a bigger then expected fish in the heavy weeds. The canoe moves easier than the fish giving them all the time they want to wrap up. If you were on the same pond at those times you’d likely her a few colorful words. I tend to stop thinking about it shortly thereafter, losing a fish doesn’t turn a nice day on the water into a bad one.
  9. Drop DVT (ad below) a query, he does good work.
  10. We’ve gotten to the point for plug in throws in the family room and electric blankets under a down quilt on the bed.
  11. What’s the bet he’ll have a video about fishing old firewood out by tomorrow?
  12. $44 for 2 yrs, under 16’. $66 for 2 yr, 16’-26’’.
  13. There’s a big spring shad run up the Connecticut. The shad derby is in May around the Springfield area. Many of the MA fishing maps show Golden shiners as bait fish.
  14. I’ve noticed strength and balance going south last year, which isn’t safe in a canoe, started at the gym last Sept for both. The trick of course is keeping it up, tough to do once fishing starts.
  15. Cut from the Ma Regs Lead sinkers, lead weights, and lead jigs weighing less than an ounce. Any sinker or weight made from lead that weighs less than 1 ounce, and any lead jig (meaning any lead-weighted hook) that weighs less than 1 ounce, is prohibited for use in all inland waters of the Commonwealth. The term lead sinker shall not include any other sinkers, weights, fishing lures or fishing tackle including, but not limited to, artificial lures, hooks, weighted flies, and lead-core or other weighted fishing lines.
  16. It’s always too soon, sorry to hear.
  17. I don’t enjoy the winters anymore either. Went out hiking today, I had on 3 layers, my wife had 4. If monthly rentals hadn’t gone bonkers since Covid, we’d be somewhere in Florida now, which was the original plan.
  18. T rigged plastics are easily 75% white double bladed spinnerbaits and jigs another 20% bait monkey baits are the last 5%
  19. I went with a 100 ah Enjoybot @ 30lbs. For $370 3 years ago. I went by the battery testing Will Prowse does on YouTube, he seems to know his stuff and does very in depth testing on them, at least he did 3 years ago. I did build a battery box with a battery monitor in it as running a trolling motor i/was new to me. I have no sues with the battery, as far as I can tell it works fine. My concern at the time was to get one that actually would put out 100 amps, many only said 50 amps in their specs. I was under the impression a 55 lb trolling motor could pull 55 amps at top end, in practice mine is more like 45 amps max. fwiw, 100 ah s way more then I need, could have gotten away with half that. I’ve never used more than 20%.
  20. It’s like being a Patriots fan a few years back.
  21. Line conditioner, if it made a difference I not good enough to tell. I should go through my tackle and toss everything I don’t use, I’ll bet it’s at least 50% of what I have. If I try something new for 30 min and don’t get fish it’s back to what I have confidence in. I really shouldn’t blame the tackle, but I do.

    Welcome to the forum.
  23. Will do, if I can remember, come April.
  24. I have a Bass Raider, fwiw, my 55lb Minn Kota Endura Max weighs about 22 lbs, the 100ah lithium battery, which I keep next to the motor, is another 30. Looking on Google the little 6hp motors that look like a weed wacker are 27ish. The 9.8’s that look like an outboard weigh 57. I don’t see the weight of the first being an issue, the 9.8 is probably too much for the transom. I believe my transom is sheet metal wrapped around the plastic with a wood core. I can see it flexing with the trolling motor just coming up to speed too fast, I suspect the 6 hp would do it too. You might have to come up to speed in a controlled manner to limit the flex.
  25. if you use Facebook at all there are a couple groups on the Bass Raider and Bass Hunter’s, in the past I saw a few folks with motors posting there, you might join and post your question there if you need more opinions.
