We've haven't gotten rain in weeks, and I don't see any coming soon. As soon as I get new boat on my home lake that is comfortable to fish from for two, you got an invitation anytime to come fish with me.

All the smallmouth tourney's I watched this year were certainly won because of spot lock and FFS. Seems much harder to sit on a single patch of isolated cover offshore and pick off a 20lb bag of Largemouths.

I deck handed a center console in Orange Beach during the summers....one day we had to beat two converging storms in, and at one point the captain's friend has a picture of us with the prop clear out of the water. Long story short, hours after we had arrived home, me and the captain are standing in Subway line and I look at him and ask him if he still feels like he's getting hit with 5ft chop, looks back and says more like 10ft chop ? I never get seasick, but I almost always get a slight rocking feeling after I get beaten up on the water with a boat. This is a very common thing, and thankfully if you aren't prone to sea sickness, it'll go away in several hours once you get to dry land.

Remember that unless you get iced in.....the best months to catch pigs are in March and Feb. Always something to look forward to in Bass fishing.

Yeah, and that's the case with me. I remove my main group of 27 lead acid daily.....not a huge deal, but lithium would be significantly lighter.

No doubt they are the future, and superior technology....but as we see with all tech, it's very expensive to be the earliest adopters of it. I can't wait until they are more affordable.

I just spent a month researching the best Chatterbait setup, and here's what I ended up with Daiwa Zillion SV TW 1000 6.3 JDM Alpha Angler 7'2 Chatterbound rod P-Line Ultimate Fluorocarbon 15lb Nothing wrong at all with a 6.3 for Chatterbaits, and yes I don't think you're going to find a better line choice than 15-20lb high quality Fluorocarbon for this application. Translates bites on slack lines when Yo Yoing them fantastically, excellent knot strength, has more stretch than braid which is very advantageous for a moving bait, and I've found it to be very abrasion resistant, more so than my fishing needs require. It's the perfect option imho.

That's ridiculously hot fishing Katie, congrats and way to go! Wish I could see an Eagle, see lots of Hawks, Owls, and some smaller BoP species, but can't recall seeing an Eagle while fishing. We might have the big fish down here, but you just have so many healthy fish that are eager for a fight. None of those fish are dinks, and when you add that many of them up......people would pay money for days like that, I know I would. As they say, quantity has its own beauty over quality, even though I'd say all those fish above are both quality, and plentiful.

I still use the improved clinch on light mono, and a few other things, but I've found over time it doesn't have the same strength as a palomar knot. Never had a palomar knot come free, but I've had a handful of improved clinch knots come free. This is why fishing is great, it's very nuanced, and opinionated.

I'd disagree on the first part. I tie nothing but palomar knots on my Fluoro stuff, knock on wood not a single problem.

My new favorite rod company has a policy that allows you to send a rod back if it doesn't meet or exceed your expectations, and they do just that based on personal experience. Obviously, they have some rules around this policy, but because they don't do brick N mortor, they understand that the angler needs to try a rod in the hand. Most rod companies aren't going to like that you fished with a rod, didn't break it, but are sending it back because "it's just not for me" type deal.

I mean when he said "winning the last three tournements in a row" leading up to that event......how in the world were red flags not already going up before this event. These cheaters are as repulsive and disgusting humans as possible, but the way this all went down seems mickey mouse to me in regard to the circuit, and tourney organizers. I could understand if they were some mastermind types with a brilliant way of cheating, but this is something you would expect to be checked in even a local small club event. I mean cutting a fish open is pretty easy.
