  1. My thoughts exactly!
  2. Same here. What I have witnessed is overpopulation and stunted growth. Bag limits are in place for a reason. I have no problem with someone keeping a legally caught fish for the frying pan.
  3. I have a couple of Browning Safari travel rods that have worked well for me. You can get them at BPS for $79.99.
  4. I have about a bazillion craws and creatures, but I make one of my favorites by cutting the head and front legs off of a Zoom lizard. Try the 5" on a shaky head and the 6" and 8" on a Texas rig.
  5. Let me start by saying that I have nothing against Lazer Sharp hooks. In fact, I caught a half dozen bass this morning with a Lazer Sharp EWG worm hook. With that said, I don't think they're much of an upgrade from the hooks that come on most crankbaits. Sure, there are some companies that sell crankbaits with junk hooks, and just about anything would be an improvement. But most of the crankbaits I buy come with hooks of at least the same quality as a Lazer Sharp, and I just don't see the point in replacing the hooks unless you are upgrading. If you are determined to replace all of your treble hooks, I would recommend spending the extra money and getting some Mustad Triple Grips.

  7. My screen name was Bird Dog for many years because I had an old bird dog that used to love riding in my boat. Now that she's gone, I just use my name. The S is for Steven.
  8. Spot and stalk antelope hunting is tough even with a rifle. I don't have the self-discipline required to do it with a bow.
  9. @Brown Town, antelope are a lot of fun, and they're tasty! I've never bowhunted them though. I'm a rifle guy.
  10. Pagosa Springs (GMU77). We usually hunt 2nd season in GMUs 23 & 24 around Meeker, but we decided to change it up this year. If we don't draw for 1st season, we'll buy over the counter tags for 2nd.
  11. Skin hook with EWG hook. Bury it with anything else.
  12. Welcome to BR!
  13. I was born in December. I'm not sure what that pastry is, but I can't have it because I'm diabetic. I might have to change my date of birth to November. Hold the rice!
  14. I just applied for an elk tag for 1st rifle season in Colorado. What tag(s) are you applying for this year?
  15. Let me rephrase that... If he told you what to use, why don't you ask him where to get them?
  16. Why don't you ask "the Godfather" what jig heads he recommends?
  17. I think he's referring to this article. https://www.bassresource.com/fish_biology/skinny-fish.html
  18. I have one that I bought in 2009 that I still use. It looks a little rough, but it performs like new.
  19. This picture is almost 10 years old. It's from the first time I tried a Chigger Craw. I had caught several smaller fish on a Texas rigged lizard, but I ran out of lizards, so I tied on a jig with a Chigger Craw trailer. I've been a fan of Chigger Craws ever since. I like regular Chigger Craws for jig trailers and Crazy Legs for Texas rig.
  20. It's a black crappie. Some people call them sac-a-lait or slabs. I call them delicious!

  22. That twitching bar can be used for walking the dog with a Spook or Sammy.
