- G. Loomis NRX+ Jig And Worm 6’8” Medium Extra Fast
Welcome fellow Hoosier! I have a predecessor to this rod in a GLX 804c (80 being length @ 6’ 8” and 4 being the power at Heavy) which I use for jigs and Texas rigs which works great. Agreed, fishing Florida with the NRX+ may be a tad underpowered for punching heavy cover with heavy weights but be conscious of the weights and it should work just fine.- Latest,Rods & Reels Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)

Buy ‘em boys! My orders on the way home.- State VS State 2025 – Let’s bring it back.

I snapped a picture of @A-Jay dock fishing using live bait for them monster smallie’s. He thinks he’s so smart!- Best Modern Low-Stretch Copolymer / Mono (Life After Defier Armilo)
Tried Mean Green but was just too unruly. P-Line Fluro’ but didn’t seem to be abrasion resistant enough YoZuri T7 for me 10# jerk baits M/F, 12# bladed baits MH/F and 16# t-rig and jigs H/F. Smooth as butter, strong like bull.- My Days on the Water May Be Over
Condolences on the loss of your Mother. Be well- Presidents Day Sale
Now how can I justify new jigs when the ones I got at Christmas haven’t even got wet yet! hummm, but I could use a nice red craw set up……….. edit: site won’t let me login, requested password reset, nada signed up for new account, got nothing checked out as guest but it was slow edit, edit: finally got an email for account , all’s well Thank you- Jon Boat, bass raider, or something else?
Yes totally stand-able. Well, stable enough for me to stand with my poor sea legs and relieve myself over the side when needed if in a necessary scenario. Standing to fish is not a problem. In fact the more weighted it is (trolling motor, battery, cooler, tackle and rods) the lower it sits in the water, the more stable it becomes. Mine is the S13 model (square stern, 12’ 8”) This may convince you!- Wanna built a boat?
Sounds like you’re on the right path!- Wanna built a boat?
Gotta have a starting battery, electronics battery and two for TM. Personally I don’t connect electronics to either TM or cranking batteries as it (can) produces interference. I thought the Mega2 would connect to the Ultrex as they are both Johnson products. Plug-And-Play With Your Minn Kota Mounting MEGA Live 2 is easier than ever, offering mounting options that include placement on either side of a Minn Kota Ultrex trolling motor.- Accommodations made by an aging fisherman...
My work out room. Improves flexibility, stability, strength, coordination and concentration. Occasionally my wallet 😆- Wanna built a boat?
Congratulations on the boat! Let’s see; Power Pole anchor(s) Mega 2 Live w/FFSonar Helix 10 at helm Ultrex trolling motor 3 MillerTech LifePo4 100ah batteries Butt Seat for bow TH Marine jack plate (cause it your money) Assorted dock lines and a bumper or two Quality marine radio w/weather channel Quality road cover Swing away tongue (it makes a difference for room) I think that’d be a great start 😆- Off Season Kayak Outfitting
I too geared down last year. My aluminum kayak (canoe) is much lighter, just as stable and roomier than my (sold) Old Town AP120. Usually grab my sling tackle bag, three rods and paddle and go fishing.- Jon Boat, bass raider, or something else?
My vote is a Sportspal Canoe . Solid light weight aluminum, big capacity, room for three easily or one adult and three kids, trolling motor compatible or easily rowed with oars. Boat weight is under 60 pounds, 40+ inch beam and unsinkable. Available from 11 ft. to 16 ft. both square stern or pointed ends I believe it would be a perfect fit for you alone, a friend or for taking kids out comfortably while being able to store outside, drag thru the woods or car top if needed. I use a Newport 55# thrust motor (26 lbs) with a LifePo4 battery (20 lbs) that are both easy to carry and install. Mine is a 1994 model that was stored outdoors and other than paint and foam was no worse for wear. Plastic would never last as long or hold up as well. There are many youtube videos, just google Sportspal Canoe Although I am 70 years old and biased……- Accommodations made by an aging fisherman...
I’m 70 and feel 50! I fish at least once a week and play golf twice in the same week. Don’t smoke, drink and usually might work out lightly every other week. No major injuries and come from a 95+ year old family members DNA line. I’ve been fortunate. Or maybe it was the quadruple bypass in ‘21 that gave me my youth back! 😆- What's your bass fishing superpower?
……….snacking,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,yeah that’s it, snacking edit; seriously, knowing when to say when- Am i the minority when it comes to reels?
@A-Jay I see 20 bait casters and 11 spinning!! That’s an uneven number of spinning reels, which my ocd would never accept an odd and even collection. Better pony up another spinning set up there soldier 🫡- My Days on the Water May Be Over
Positivity is 90% of the battle, I have experience with this and starring at your mortality is daunting. We all battle in life, some greater than others. Prayers for you and your loved ones. Strength in the Lord and Spirit . Fight hard- All around Texas rig
1/8-1/4 tube, 10# floro- All around Texas rig
I agree. My number one method of fishing is the T-rig by a large margin.- Very cold and very clear drop shot bait choice?
2.0 nose hooked- All around Texas rig
Pretty much this with your choice of variables- Safety cables vs chains?
I have cables on my 1956 canoe trailer but it only weighs 150#. If I were to change it would be chains. Indiana doesn’t allow cables since about 2000. All my boats have been chains. Master lock in the trailer coupler and pin lock in the receiver. - G. Loomis NRX+ Jig And Worm 6’8” Medium Extra Fast
