  1. When I have a stressful week at work I tend to really enjoy the freedom of the water. Pretty much doing what I want when I want. I love when I am the only one out or at last no one in site. I mostly enjoy being on the water but, I really enjoy it when I’m catching.
  2. boat, bank, or kayak? I don’t think you should drive over the susky and not throw a line in. That’s just me though.
  3. Man that really stinks. I hate that people don’t own up to their mistakes. More than likely a drunk driver.
  4. I run suffix 832. Cortland masterbraid is my favorite but, I am too cheap to run that. 832 checks all the boxes I need. For all the rocks I encounter I do run a FC leader. If I did not fish in highly rocky areas I would probably just run it straight.
  5. Pure muskys do this as well. Clear fish are open water fish darker are more structure related.
  6. I listen to Ike live, bass talk live, bass after dark, Mercer and the zaldains
  7. @FryDog62 thanks buddy. I love hearing other people’s take on the susky.
  8. @gimruis but people with a real boat can. Ain’t that a kick in the head.
  9. @FryDog62 what podcast was this? I would like to listen. I find it interesting they had to stay at one area. At the level it was at for the tournament a jet boat can get pretty much anywhere.
  10. I love fall the fishing can be great the weather can be great. I usually take a lot of time off from work in October.
  11. Unless the bait rolls I wouldn’t put any kind of swivel on it. So baits like jerkbaits, cranks, walk the dog no swivel. Spinners, prop style top waters I’d use a swivel. Most end up tying solids wire instead of crimping it. You can crimp it. I highly recommend a stay lock style snap. That way if a fish does pop it open there is a second retaining ring to catch it.
  12. The best time for me to throw a spinner bait is….. anytime the water isn’t frozen. I can drag it on bottom, I can burn it over weeds, I can put it anywhere in the water column I need. It’s not always my most productive but, always worth a throw.
  13. Great job! I love taking people fishing who do not fish. I actually rarely go with a bass head. It will be my dad or someone who might fish once a year or less. Many times it’s their first time on a boat. They usually find it very enjoyable. I just always give the disclaimer I am terrible at fishing so I can’t promise anything.
  14. I enjoy watching most of it. I like watching men and women push the limits of what’s possible. The BMX racing is probably what I like the most. I don’t mind women’s beach volleyball either. Lol
  15. Anything is possible yes. I wouldn’t go any longer than 9” for baits 7” and under I don’t go longer than 14” unless I am trolling. I use long trolling leaders because of grinding bottoms and hitting stuff.
  16. I am recommending what I actually used to catch musky and my experience using small baits for musky.
  17. There are always boats on the susky unless it’s to high.
  18. @Ohioguy25 I’d just buy them premade from stealth tackle personally they have a variety of different style leaders. And I lost a crush 100x I was not using anything tooth proof. Just my normal leader for the abrasion on rocks. @gimruis still no northern pike for me lol
  19. That’s not a bad option. I’d run around 75-100lb and 6-9” leader length. You must have jinxed me. I got bit off this week by a musky.
  20. Typical for this time of year. I don’t really like it but I need to get better at it. Not that there isn’t big fish to be had they just aren’t as concentrated as in the fall winter and spring.
  21. @Choporoz makes a great point. I live and die by the river gauges. it takes a lot of time on the water learning how they affect the river and where the fish are. A .2 change on that gauge is the different between me hitting or clean sailing once it gets to a certain level.
  22. @Choporoz I’m sure some are absolutely sharing info. You can also treat this as the same as FFS. Still have to get them to eat.
