  1. @Skunkmaster-ki don’t think I am going to. I’ve never named a boat, truck gun or dirt bike.
  2. @casts_by_fly thanks buddy. The draft should be comparable. The handling is much better. The biggest reasons I chose this was the forward center console and the tunnel. The vision I have and knowing my intake isn’t going to take the brunt of the hit are great piece of mind. The top end speed of my old boat vs this one is only about 5-7mph difference. What I did gain with the motor is getting up on plane in a couple boat lengths vs 20 yards. I can easily cruise at 25mph which is a good speed on the river in most situations. This gives me plenty of throttle to power out of situations @volzfan59 they do have a time and purpose and when you need them they are invaluable.
  3. @GRiver I open my garage door about 20 times a day lol @flyfisher I am not. It adds a lot of weight. Its expensive. It’s either screwed or glued to the bottom which each of those have their own issues. If you do damage the UHMW it needs replaced there is no real fix to it. @gimruis haha that’s borderline crazy.
  4. Smallies love erratic. Even straight retrieve baits you should pump to create different trigger speeds. I think in most cases it’s hard to over work a bait for a smallie. @gimruis is spot on with backing off. Changing your approach angle can make a big difference too. @Dwight Hottle the cat and mouse game makes smallie fishing appeal to me the most.
  5. @Darth-Baiter driving them is almost like dirt track racing or Mario cart. You basically power slide them and counter steer. Depending on the situation you will manipulate the throttle. You really need to set up turns in a jet. When I go through really rocky areas and shallow areas I already have my line picked. @TnRiver46 most guys with jets go into the trailers hot. 7-10mph than Chop the throttle once the bow gets to the bunks.
  6. @airshot so a jet drive are direct drive. There is no gear box it is forcing water into the impeller for cooling. As far as MPH a tunnel will run slightly slower than a none tunnel jet. The benefit of the tunnel is the jet intake will not hit the hull will take a brunt of the hit. Jets lose about a 20% from s prop motor. So a 115/80 like I have is a 115 outboard if it had a prop on it but, at the jet nozzle it is only 80. A 60/40 is a 60 HP prop motor but, with a jet it’s 40HP. I hope this answers your questions.
  7. Yesterday I picked up my 2024 G3 18’ CCJ tunnel dlx. Yamaha 115/80 jet. I have a bow and console mount 9” Garmin striker vivid. I am not super fancy with electronics nor do I fish big water that is mapped. I am however waiting on the key piece. My 115 terrova quest. I am borrowing an old terrova right now from the shop I got it from. I did my two slower hours of break in today. Didn’t really fish much. I must say this boat gets on plane quick. Super stable while fishing and on plane. It does carve turns well. You just have to be ready for the typical jet slide. I can’t wait to get it out on the river and see it preform where it’s intended.
  8. I get there from time to time. I also get into the the mind set I’m just doing it to do it and my heart isn’t in it. Sometimes it s a beak you need as much as you don’t want to admit it. Fishing is a grind at times. Waking up, going to the water, casting and loading back up. Maybe take some time off than take a trip to a body of water that has been on your radar but, maybe have not pulled the trigger to go. If it’s not fun for you right now don’t do it. That will only make it worse.
  9. I am glad you were close to the ramp. One of my fears is always something happening and me not being able to get back to the ramp.
  10. Glad you joined up! I was much liken you. You’ll get such a better experience now and learn much more!
  11. Just fish as much as you can. I have been proven a fool many times trying to plan days by weather and moon phases. It has worked out as well but, even a broken clock is right eventually.
  12. They say crime doesn’t pay. I guess it does when nothing really happens to you anymore.
  13. @gimruisIt looks like there was a hole there already from an incomplete weld. Water would get behind there and sit.
  14. @gimruis the corner toe of the weld? Did it separate? I don’t think it was a rust issue than.
  15. @gimruis the black painted trailer will allow water to get behind the paint. The paint will hold the moisture in making it rust faster and less noticeable. Did it happen to crack at a weld?
  16. @TnRiver46 sounds like a blast! Our musky management program in PA Is a joke. It sounds good on paper but, it’s not what is needed. Once I went out of state a few times for musky I won’t even pick up the rods here. @gimruis come on buddy the ice is just fine!
  17. @TnRiver46 I’d love to go south
  18. Guides, line, reels freezing. Boat icing up. Crazy wind. Water temps hovering around freezing. Stupid slow bite. I’ll pass for winter fishing unless it’s ice fishing.
  19. The only rod I switch’s hands with is my musky rod with the tranx 500. They only off the 500 in right retrieve. Everything else j get in left retrieve. It just makes more sense to me.
  20. If I want to catfish I would. I never do that unless it’s in my buddies boat. Other than that it’s emergency only
  21. I think I just use the 3700? No clue honestly what exactly it is I’d have to look.
  22. I’ve also caught some on the original bondy.
