The Funniest Thing Youve Ever Seen On The Water Or At The Ramp
I saw a rollback with a trailer and boat on it. Lowered the roll back bed. Winched down the trailer and launched the boat.

Ever Hire A Fishing Guide?
@Will Ketchumi haven’t got up to wilksbarre this year to fish. I do like it up there but, only get up there maybe a handful of times a year. If I ever head up that way I’ll shoot you a message. I’m about 1.5 hours from the wilksbarre ramp.

I got really lucky...lesson learned!
Man that’s no good at all glad you didn’t have to go swimming. I have had people at electric only lakes get in my boat and accidentally hit the constant mode on the pedal. And the boat take off. I always be sure to have it stowed or the dial to zero now.

I always hear people say that smallmouth will hit moving baits all the way down into the low 50s, but I have not found this to be the case at all
For me in the susky I feel them pick it right up off the bottom this time of year Tube, ned, mr twister. Moving baits never seem to be the ticket here sub 50 water temp. Jerkbaits even tend to fall to the wayside for me too.

Well, I finally launched without the drain plug
I have done it before with my old boat. This boat has two drain plugs and two pumps because of the tunnel. They are tethered from The inside out from factory. I usually put my plugs in the night before when I tighten the transom straps to help prevent for getting this. it happens to all of us. Just like we all bump stuff, all forget how to back a trailer from time to time. We are only human.

Ever Hire A Fishing Guide?
@dave it’s ashame I don’t offer refunds to myself 😂😂 I can tell you with the river there is not many secrets and it’s monkey see monkey do. I go elbow to elbow with guides often there. The two biggest benefits you’ll get is being on a boat and a guy who should have the fish patterned pretty good. I only get our 4 times a month in a good month. So for me it’s like hitting the reset switch everytime. what part of the susky do you fish and which part are you looking to fish? Guides and weekend warriors have there home stretches they fish.

My first tournament
@J Francho it was just good banter between these guys nothing serious. More like “can you beleive my wife scratched the side of my boat and blamed it on the wake it was an electric only lake though how much wake was there?”. I learned through musky fishing most fishermen don’t do anything different than the other. It’s just are the fish there active when you are. @Catt I do try to fish my strengths all the time not that I won’t venture out but, I do not try to reinvent the wheel. They are going to eat what I’m giving them or not.

Ever Hire A Fishing Guide?
@GaryH haha thanks for the compliment but, I even ask for my money back when I guide myself sometimes 😂 @detroit1 how do you figure? If he doesn’t have a boat and the susky is 444 miles long and a mile wide at some areas I doubt he’s making it there from the bank ever again.

My first tournament
@WRB great advice! I would say 75% of those guys fish that lake every Tuesday in a club tournament. So they have that lake dialed. I am hoping to try my luck in a river tournament where I feel much more at home. I did get the chance to do some prefishing the Friday before. I did get on some fish but nothing that would have been score-able . I am willing to bet the ones who did well had a great open water game. Which I was lacking on by not having an operational bow sonar. Kind of a long story but, I only found out about it the Monday evening before when I picked up my new boat.

My first tournament
@Captain Phil I mean yeah I wanted to win but, it was not my sole purpose of doing it. I wanted to understand how the whole competitive side works. It was good trading stories, tricks, tips with people who are passionate about fishing. Most of them were guys who compete regularly. It was a completely different crowd than I am used to being around at a boat ramp. They were much more serious. Not unapproachable just more serious about everything to do with fishing than the normal people I run into.

@TnRiver46 you aren’t kidding.

My first tournament
I did my first fishing tournament yesterday. 4 fish per boat 15” min to put in the livewell. It was a local buddy tournament. It was on a hard to fish and very pressured lake. There were 30 boats on a 1,200 acre lake. I drew boat 7. I was very underpowered compared to most running a 115/80 jet. I thought I’d be getting a decent advantage in the race to the no wake area. I sucked some leafs onto my grate upon take off. Which is basically like hitting neutral. Dealing with this issues I felt like a deer trying to cross a highway with boats flying at me as I’m dead in the water. We get to our first area. My buddies one reel broke. I hook up with a decent bass and it wraps me up underneath a log in the water. I eventually lose the fish but, get my jig back. I watched how everyone was fishing. Nobody else was killing it. I made the choice to use my shallow drafting boat to sit in inches of water and cast out the opposite of everyone else. My thought was these fish are extremely pressured so doing this might be the different look we need. We did end up catching a none score-able bass, a decent walleye and a catfish. Which, I have never been so let down to catch a walleye before. I would do another one. I learned a lot. Time management is key and I think for my first one I did well with that. I did enjoy that fact I had to think more and keep my head in to fishing. I would have felt much more confident doing it on the river than that lake. It’s not something I would want to do all the time but, once or twice a year would be alright.

Best Bass Boat Brand In Your Opinion
I think people snub their nose to trackers a little bit because of the price point. They are great boats for what you pay for them. Unless you have very specific needs or money to blow they will do just about everything you ask of them.

Absolutely a First
And you though bass on the brain was just a saying. This one really tried!

How many states have you fished and what is your opinion of them?
I have fished PA, MD, NJ and WV. PA- lakes suck for bass fishing stay on a river for bronze backs. Certain lakes were decent for musky. MD- haven’t been there to much but, the flats and around port deposit were awesome for bass and blue cats. I would like to go back down for snake heads. NJ- I only fished there for musky and it was pretty good. WV- I only fished one lake down there but, for a few days at a time. I try to go there every year. I haven never bass fished it. The musky fishing is great. Still a grind but, the weather never seemed to cooperate.

People and money
I have never saw an ATM getting serviced that I know of. Obviously everything needs maintenance at some point. If I do go to an atm and it’s down I just say ahh (insert cuss word here) and go on to the next one. No complaining it’s not a big deal.

Do you label your jig storage?
I only use a handful of different jugs. I have them labeled by weight and keep the same styles in a row
-
Winterization specs
That’s a great deal. I don’t winterize my boat. It hopefully doesn’t sit for longer than a month even over winter. i do get it professionally gone over every year. I have a great shop I go to. Family owned straight up with anything they do. I was going there even before I bought my current boat from them.

Walleye and Smallmouth together?
@Kirtley Howe that is exactly my experience as well. And in high water you never know what is in the same hole.

Boat cover question
There is an old saying anything worth doing is doing right! If you are going to use it most the time during your ownership of the boat get the custom. Ironically, the boat cover I will get for my G3 with be a universal. Why? It may get used 5 days a year if I go on a fishing trip somewhere just to keep leafs/rain/light debris out of the boat. I won’t trailer with it on. It stays in my garage all the other days of the year Getting wet leafs out of a boat drive me insane.

My First Winter - Garage or Shrink Wrap
Always garage keep it if you have that option.

Best Bass Boat Brand In Your Opinion
I had a tracker 160 before my tunnel I just got. It did everything I asked it to. I cannot complain. My new boat so far does everything I need it to better. Just slightly less frills I guess you could say. I have never been on a nitro, ranger, skeeter etc. so I have no comment on those.

New Article: 5 Ways to Get Out of a Bass Fishing Slump
# 2, 3 and 4 are huge for me. This is my only social media I gave up everything else. I love taking new people fishing and getting them on fish. It’s almost more rewarding than me catching them. I also love trying to figure out new water. To me catching anything on a body i have never fished or fish once a year is very rewarding.

Damage from tournaments
I think all the fishing pressure changes the fishes habits. I am not saying fish do not die from tournament fishing. It will make you have to fish completely different than you normally would. Unless the trap net and or electro fishing studies are down I would not worry about population. Fishing will be harder but the numbers of fish are there.
