Lund 1875 Pro-V Bass ~ Useful
@Bdnoble84 I’ll tell you what it is an eerie feeling when you go over something in a jet boa. you can feel the water pinch between your hull and the submerged obstacle. You think to yourself man that was close!

Lund 1875 Pro-V Bass ~ Useful
I’m confused where are all the rocks? Why isn’t it 3 feet or less? Why are you making such little noise but going so fast? I am just used to the jet boat life on the susky. Very rarely do I get into a place like you are at in that video. Looks so peaceful compared to my normal outing of “ I don’t think this rock is showing yet”

Lead Acid vs AGM
@gimruis ahh gotcha. @MN Fisher no I was thinking if he could fit 31s instead of going to AGM 27s

Lead Acid vs AGM
Instead of going to AGM would it be possible to upsize your batteries? I know it’s not the question at hand but, may be worth venturing into if you can.

Shelf Life of Lines?
I can tell you line in a hot vehicle all the time makes it weak. My buddy and I ran the same line test everything. Me would constantly snap off. He stopped keeping his rods in his vehicle all the time and it stopped.

Your Reaction Time
My reaction time is so fast I set the hook into snags better then anyone. The fish don’t have a chance against those snags! In all seriousness there are days I don’t feel fast enough to hook fish. I am still a young buck too. Some days your mind and body just do not work in conjunction.

Lund 1875 Pro-V Bass Electronic Replacement ~
I somewhat just did what you did. I was trying to pick new units for the new rig I’ll be getting. I ended up going to the updated versions of what I have. Nothing fancy but, for where I fish most the time they will do more the required of them. I listened to a musky podcast awhile back. The one guy is a guide and said every few years he deletes all his waypoints. He commented how this way you do not get stuck in old patterns for life.

Nothing beats time on the water.
I agree with this. There will always be tough days but, listening to this or that guy promote a bait isn’t making you better. Learning the bodies of water you fish are the most effective way to catch more fish.

Got skunked, help me figure out why
I agree with others where I think you fished to fast. I would have tried shallow cover first then worked my way to the first break of the lake. It took me years to get the discipline to fish a body of water small. Every once and awhile I catch myself running and gunning. Unless you are on a great bite it doesn’t normally pay off for me. Covering as much water as you did you were 100% over fish. You just didn’t spend enough time or work to the right presentation to get them to eat.

@Ohioguy25You fished probably the most popular and well known stretch on the susky. I think the river was running around 4.5. I am sure there was a good amount of boats out at that level. It’s a perfect level to run a jet boat. The thing that makes it hard in a kayak in that stretch is how wide it is. There was probably a decent amount of current for you. how did you do?

Seeking tips to increase my landing percentage
Come on! Give those fish a fighting chance! I don’t think you are really doing much wrong. I wouldn’t go reinventing your fishing. I don’t think braided line will help. It won’t give as much if you have your drag to tight. Your drag and keeping the rod bent are the two biggest factors. I try to fight fish more with a side pull. Anytime a fish jumps it sure looks awesome but, it’s way easier for them to spit it. Bigger fish have more power so you are bound to lose more big fish. I would probably junk the rod. Anyone who is straightening hooks is running their drag way to tight.

Q about automatic PFDs
I have the mustang survival MIT 100 automatic I wear while running. I will be upgrading to a HIT. I did not do my homework on what everything meant. I personally feel like mustang is the only brand to go with inflatables.

HOW TO ACCESS THE FRONT SLANTED PANEL ON TRACKER PRO TEAM 165
As woody said you sometimes have to jiggle it. Did you check the fuse? Hopefully it would be on the battery instead of underneath that panel.

just got off phone with Travel Advice nurse. traveling sounds scary coming from her.
You guys are works travelers and I am worried about going out to Indy in a couple weeks! I have never flown. I am not worried about the flying part. It’s the logistical parts connecting flights etc. it’s for work so I didn’t have much say on things with my itinerary.

Special or “magic” crankbaits
I have never trolled for steelheads or bass. I have trolled for musky. You are 100% correct on this. Some baits just have the magic. There is also the theory of the ringer bait. It’s not the bait that gets hit it’s the one that calls the fish in. Then they hit a different one in the spread. You take that bait out and your catch rate goes down even though it was never hit in the first place.

@Ohioguy25yes I would say it is. Just watch the low head d**n at Selinsgrove. I do not have to much experience with that area. Route 15 pretty much follows the river the whole way.
