Tiller Extension Help
I have one that costs 160 per month, was only 45 per month, but it increased when insulin dropped to 35 per month !! No one told us that when they reduced insulin and a couple others that 90 other meds would increase in price.....

How to put a value on a boat?
I always recommend shopping long before your really ready to buy. You will end up looking at a lot of junk and things you might not be real interested in, but you will gain an education on how much will buy what ! Remember book value may not be actual value to certain people. Market and area can be vastly different in prices. When I bought my used boat three years back, I shopped for almost four months, drove lots of miles, wasted many long trips, looked at lots of junk, realized how honest people are not. But in those months I began to establish value in what I wanted. When the right boat came along, I drove 200 miles with cash in hand. Owner was very kind to answer all my questions and send lots of pics for things I ask about. After a Hal hour of inspection I knew it was what I wanted at a fair price so gave him what he was asking, no haggle this time as he was fair in his price and was honest with his description. Best education on value is to shop around, yep it takes time and you will burn some fuel, but when the right one comes along, you will know it !

Tire rot
Most all trailer tires rot before they wear out. Lucky to have a barn to store my boat in, only sun they see is when I go fishing. Vehicle tires have almost doubled in price in the past 4 plus years. Bought a set for my wife's SUV just over 4 years back, needed a set for my SUV so went back to same place for same tire as before. 440 back in 2020, current price is 805.....what an eye opener !

Need Some Help with Boat Selection
Many trailers have swing away tongues that shorten them by almost 2 ft. I have also saw many garages with an extension out the back for extra room. Build another garage or an enclosed carport. At our previous home we had a 6' tall privacy fence which I added three sides to and created an enclosed shed for my 16' boat. Think outside the box....

Battery and charger recommendations
Just some food for thought here.....your old 17# trolling motor will draw the same or more battery power than a newer 36# or higher motor. Many improvements have been made over the years on reducing the battery draw on newer electric motors. Today, everyone wants 55# or higher electric motors, so there are quite a few 36-45# thrust used motors out there that would actually use less battery power in the long run as long as you don't run wide open. Yet you would have extra power if you really needed it.......again just some food for thought.....good luck...

Aluminum Bass Boat Brands
Great idea if you know what you really want. Poster mentioned he was new to the game, big expense to make a wrong guess as to what he really needs. My opinion would be to grab something used, fish for a couple years before making a big jump to an expensive new boat

Looking for a new prop
Bottom line is what is your wot RPM ? Speed doesn't mean much, but if you over rev your motor, it won't last long ! Same thing if your pitch is to high, your motor will lug and use excess fuel, not healthy for long life. Many folks carry two props, one gives max speed with a light load and another for getting heavy loads up on plane. When using one or the other, the extra prop serves as a spare for emergencies. I wouldn't waste your money on a SS prop, you won't see enough improvement to make the cost worthwhile ! Remember is SS is stronger, what else will break when you hit something ? Aluminum props are cheap in comparison and give easily on impact and yes they are much cheaper than a new lower unit on your motor.

Fish finder recommendations
Lots of guys always wanting to upgrade, search and look for an older model that folks want to sell. Make sure you get a thorough demo to be sure it works well. My Lawrence HDI is from 2013, bought used, more bells and whistles than I will ever use or need. But less than buying a budget fish finder.

Do you too ever reach a state where you're happy to simply be on the water?
Boy is that a true statement !! To answer the original question....yes...I love being on the water ! Have since I was 10 yrs old, first boat at age 12, been a boat owner since and I am 74 now. I enjoy the ride out and in, fishing is a plus. I often take my boat out for a few hours just to get away and enjoy the water.

Oh man! Can you imagine one of these babies strapped on the back of your boat?
Wowww....my boat would sink like a rock with that on the back.

Just picked up an inflatable kayak..any tips?
Bet their hull material is much more heavy duty than his inflatable kayak... Been whitewater rafting, those are rough rafts, might be difficult to stick a hook into, but not that blowup kayak..

Just picked up an inflatable kayak..any tips?
I would trade it for something that doesn't need air to float. To many unpleasant options or possibilities on an inflatable. Just my .02

Didn't think of that....glad that isn't me, but very sorry for those of you with that issue.

Looks like I'm done for a while
That is why I never park on streets, and a good reason to have a ring camera....no wonder they sell like hotcakes ! Sad part is, if the police caught them, the court would make some excuse to set them free with no penality.

Launching/Loading Bass Boat - Beginner
I understand that most folks need to do what is easier for them. I have to disagree with backing up without using your mirrors. Been backing up trailers for over 60 years, even taught numerous folks to backup thru a training class at a marina for a few years. There are many folks that physically cannot turn around to view a trailer. I have always taught using mirrors. As a demonstration one time I backed a trailer thru an obsticial course for cars, all using my mirrors. You never see a semi driver look out the back window ! If you are a person that chooses turning backwards in your seat, then go for it, but I can assure you I can go faster with less mistakes using mirrors. I have taught numerous folks to backup, all with mirrors in about an hour or less time. Power loading if allowed at your ramp is much easier, but...your trailer must be setup to do so !! You need to keep your motor/ out drive tilted out so your prop wash doesn't errode the ramp. Once setup properly, your boat will drive on in the center every time, just reach over and snap the winch hook onto the bow eye. Good trailer setup means "everything" when it comes to ease of loading your boat. I load by myself and am in and out in less than 5 min total. Practice makes perfect !!

Tracker Pro V16SC rod lockers fillong with water?
You need to talk to the banker first and explain you have a problem, not just stop payments with taking the proper steps first....didn't think that needed to be explained, but guess it did !
