MGA087M Machette III aluminum prop with a Motorguide XI3 55 (12v)?
Electric motors are tricky, over proving will overheat them, no tech or rpm setting to watch like on a gas motor. On my MK electric, I just removed the "weedless" prop as I don't fish weeds and the " power prop" did make a noticeable improvement without stressing the motor.

Selling and pricing older boats
Pricing is always a guess, so many different things to influence the price. Do a good search, then an honest evaluation of what you have and come up with a price....that is the best you can do !! Having receipts and records is a big plus even though you had some issues. Good luck !!

Ethanol free gas vs. Regular with 10% Ethanol
I just looked up that same 250 up 4 stroke and mfgr claims 22-24 gph avg at WOT, about avg with other brands. At WOT a four stroke is only 10% more effiecient than a two stroke, but at lower rpm that fuel savings grows up to about 25-30% less consumption based off various mfgr charts

Single Axel or Tandem Axel Trailer?
Weigh your load, if you can safely get buy with a single, go for it !! Easier to handle a single all around...but if the weight requires a dual, go for it, safety is always first ..

Ethanol free gas vs. Regular with 10% Ethanol
Not the big ones !! My auto mechanic is a competition bass guy, his big 250 hp 4 stroke uses over 20 gal on at wot. Drop it back to 3/4 throttle and it cuts that in half, but at WOT, they suck fuel !!

Ethanol free gas vs. Regular with 10% Ethanol
If fuel cost is a worry, then owning a boat is not a good hobby to have. It is the boat owners money so they can spend it or throw it away, however they choose. Most E10 issues start where the fuel is purchased, not stored properly, or filters not changed. Like anything else, if proper maintenance is done, then no issues with E10. Been using it in everything since it came out and I have a lot of toys as does my neighbor, neither has ever had an issue with E10 fuel. The money I save allows me many more boating trips..But to each his own.....

Why is bass fishing so popular?
In my area, walleye and Perch are king due to being excellent table fare. I have a large pond full of bass, so catching them is easy, but not a fan of eating them. I fish Lake Erie for walleye and perch to feed my family and keep my freezer full. Bass fishing is fun, they put up a good fight, but just fishing for fun is boring to me. But with all the tournaments, it can be very financially worthwhile. I am in into fishing for their great taste....we eat them often, even better than steak !!

Three pluses and three minuses
I have a 16' Sylvan side console with a 40 up Merchant OB. Boat is very comfortable to fish out of. Handles chop better than expected, easy on fuel and a nice 18 gal built-in tank ! Layout is near perfect and very user friendly. Lots of storage, especially since I don't use the livewells. Cons.....boat has carpet..looking to replace it. Wish I had a 60 up motor for better performance with passengers. Can't think of any other cons...

I feel so smart….
But only on the bottom !!

Pulled the Trigger on a Pond Prowler
I would be very cautious spraying anything on a plastic hull !!! Most of those protector coatings are petroleum based products not compatible with plastics... Hate to see that plastic bottom melt or deform.

Mirrored versus non mirrored glasses
Many stores will allow an attendant to walk outside with you to try them on.

Mirrored versus non mirrored glasses
I often buy my glasses at outdoor markets where I can try them in the sun. To hard to see inside a store. I don' t buy cheap junk glasses, but I don't spend big bucks for fancy names either. Quality of lenses if first, brand name means little. Everyone's eyes are different that is why real life testing should be used. In my boat I carry one set of mirrored and one polarized non mirrored. Eyes can prefer different colors so a good reason to try different colors. My eyes do not like amber, bronze or green. The gray works best for me.. Try different colors and see what works best for your eyes..

Minn Kota trolling motor foot pedal?
Once I found how well the remote works, I haven't used my foot pedal. At the end of last season, I put the foot pedal on the shelf in the garage.

Mirrored versus non mirrored glasses
I have found mirrored to be better when it is extremely bright, but they can reduce visibility when the sun is not extreme. Check tour eyes with various tints, only a gray or dark gray works for my eyes. Greens , ambers etc give me headaches from being to bright. Try some different colors before you spend your hard earned dollars...

Anchor system for 1648 Jon boat? Weight of anchor?
I used to carry three anchors on my bigger boat with a quick change on the anchor line end. Danforth, navy fluke and a heavy home made fluke type so I could anchor in different type bottoms that were in my area.

Boat trailer wheel bearing grease
As long as the grease compounds are the same your good. I have many times saw where different creases don't mix well and the grease turns to oil and runs out causing bearing failure at speed. When you see oily residue running out of the hubs then you know the grease is not mixing and a thorough clean and re grease to keep things going. Grease is actually cheap, I buy by the case so I have it on hand. Losing a wheel/ tire on the highway is not worth saving a couple dollars in grease !!

Towing capacity question
I have a regular Cherokee, 2015 with towing pkg and it is rated at 4500 lbs. Tows my 3500 lb high top trailer just fine, but that 8 speed trans shifting all the time drives me nuts !!

Boat trailer wheel bearing grease
What ever you choose, keep using it, issues only happen when different types are mixed together.

Fish finder batteries
I have a MAX 12v 18 am battery, about the size of an ATV battery. Shipped to my door for less than 40 bucks thru Amazon. Mine is over 7 years old and still works perfect !! Mine is used for many things, to run my trolling motor on my pond Jon boat, also runs my boom sprayer for spraying my 3 acre yard, also powers a portable winch. Never ran it dead yet...great battery at a great price. Fully sealed agm deep cycle made for wheel chairs.

AGM starting battery?
According to our local battery mfgr shop, the dual purpose battery was originally designed for motor homes where both cranking and long slow draws were needed. They work quite well, I had them in my MH. However, they are not quite as good as a straight deep cycle for long slow draw downs. They designed an in between type battery that does both jobs but not as well as a stand alone deep cycle or cranking. According to them if your engine is hard to start then don't use them but if it starts easy they are great. Take it for what it is worth.....
