My primary treble top water rods Dobyns 704/705cb have SLX 70mgl and SLX DC XT been very happy with both. 704 is spooled with 10lb hybrid, 705 has 12lb.

All the plastic lines mentioned in the thread are good choices. Hybrids just my confidence line and so dang cheap

If you're talking mid size stuff 3/8-5/8oz I like 10lb yo zuri hybrid. Small stuff, top end of bfs like pop-x I've been using 6lb ultra green recently. I only run straight braid for my biggest spooks because I can dump a spool of 12lb hybrid down to the knot.

Some guys do run 10lb braid but again it really has nothing to do with the break strength of the braid vs the leader it's all about line diameter with the braid. If you go too thin you just end up with wind knots and line that is basically a razor saw on your skin.

Line diameter. 15lb braid is about the same as 6lb mono. Thin line casts further.

Fishing at my little corner has been tough recently, lost a couple nice 2-3lb fish in the last few days and the snot/filament grass is absolutely taking over below the tide line. best 2 of the half dozen or so mini bass.

The S rods are all solid tips. I guess this was meant as a heavy strolling casting rod? I can't find any details on the rod besides specs on retailers sites, so no real idea of Shimanos intent here.

73h has a stinger tip per the googles, I feel like that's getting snapped in half on your first good frog hook set.
