Tough day at the lake, bite window was short and ended abruptly. Had a couple swipes on the A rig first thing in the morning but nothing connected. Switched to a wacky senko and hooked 6, lost 3 pretty quick. After that the bite vanished.

That's called the Amazon lottery, every now and then they just grab an entire wholesale bundle and ship it out as a single item. I've seen guys get cases of penn reels, cases of hard baits etc. I've gotten 5 packs of jackhammers a couple times and some bundles of soft plastics when ordering a single pack.

I haven't tried CXX but I think they're probably similar, both copoly. Yo Zuri hybrid is my go to cheap but super effective line, it just runs large diameter and is definitely stronger than the listed test. I treat the 8 like 10, 10 like 12 and so on up to 20lb on some of my swimbait rods.

Not unless you're casting line with a crazy diameter. I have a DC XT on my 705cb spooled with 12lb hybrid which is the same diameter as 15lb invisx. I can bomb 3/4oz spooks that sure cast further than any crankbait and have no capacity issues. I run 10lb hybrid on my mgl70 / 704cb combo, roughly 12lb fluoro diameter.

Don't sleep on the SLX MGL70 or even the SLX DC XT for the 734. Those 70 size Shimanos are a perfect match with the 4 power Dobyns CB rods.

Not technically a sale but it looks like Dobyns is now selling quite a few items on Amazon and I'm seeing some low prices. Champ XP 794.5ar swimbait rod for $148.71 Kaden 734cb for $104.49 Sierra ultra finesse 650 or 651 hard to tell with Amazon but it's $96.89 3 packs of 1/2oz extreme football jigs mud craw for $6.71 More if you poke around.

My typical outfit is a kastking sling bag with 2 plano 3600 flex boxes and a little clamshell from amazon with terminal. Usually also a plano worm bag or buzbe cube with plastics/line/whatever else I need for the day.

I've been really happy with the Icon 610ML and Dobyns 701, but they're also my only BFS rods so I have nothing to compare. I feel like either can fish jig or treble hooks, usually just comes down to weight and presentation for me. The Icon is usually 1/4oz+ and the Dobyns 1/4oz-. If I was fishing a jig or something with a weed guard I'd probably go up to the ML but open hooks are no problem on the 701. Dobyns almost always has a finesse paddle tail or pointer 65 jerk on, and the Icon is my go to for the pop-x and showerblows 77.
