  1. Had a morning off to fish my favorite bass nursery. All swimbait eaters this time out, wouldn't touch a senko or dropshot. Always finding low tide treasures. Anyone need a new reel?
  2. When gills are defending their beds this is a common occurrence for me. Even with a tighter than normal band eg 6mm on a standard 5" senko they can get ripped out.
  3. 3" mayor on the DJ/TB mini underspin is a really nice combo. Haven't tried the 2.5" on it yet but I assume it will work just as well. I'd also say they're just as fragile as a keitech but I wouldn't say either is a 1 bait per fish thing unless they're really aggressive.
  4. Beyond the mechanical, fast clean bearings, lightweight spool etc with Daiwa it's all brake tuning. Different thickness of inductor rotor, different ramp angles, spring rates etc to tune the brake impulse. The boost spools will typically have a thinner inductor and stronger spring to keep the brake impulse short. SV spools have a thick inductor and an ultralight spring, you can usually hear the inductor pop back into position at the end of a cast.
  5. I mostly use mine for up close weightless plastics so I run an slp works 1012 sv g1 spool. Pretty light I think the spool is under 10 grams and the shallow capacity means I'm not wasting a ton of line spooling up expensive FC. Casting/pitching weightless baits is a breeze. I keep the stock spool loaded with braid but haven't touched it for a while. You have options from BFS to deep cut long casting spools for heavy line applications and everything in between from daiwa/slp and third party manufacturers.
  6. Spool options are a huge plus with the Zillion but I wouldn't go any further than that with customization, that rabbit hole is bottomless
  7. Plastics that are coated with scent or oil like the keitech squid scent will dry out and lose the nice stink. If you live anywhere damp/humid salted plastics will start to leach some salt to the surface. In extreme cases that leached salt/moisture can rust hooks. All that said I leave baits rigged constantly without issues. I have a rigs that have had baits on them for over a year, jigs sitting around with trailers etc.
  8. My favorite combo is the 6th sense crappie jighead 1/16oz #2 hook and a 2.75" xzone swammer
  9. First fish of the night on a Pop-X Right species, hit a silent spook in open water. The most skin-hooked fish I've ever landed, I boat flipped this one not knowing. All jig eaters in the dark, couldn't get anything on reaction. Couple drop shot dinks to round out the trip.
  10. 10lb yo zuri hybrid pitzen knot direct tie however the lure comes out of the box
  11. Weekend rats Couple striper rats New PB crappie yes I never catch them
  12. That's cool, I knew they would match Amazon but tackle warehouse and bass pro is pretty sweet.
  13. I'm bad about actually doing it, but I do have mendit and save my plastics for eventual repair.
  14. Yumbrella ultralight rig, 1/8oz guppy heads, 3" mayor main baits, 2.5" teasers. Should be about 1.25oz 12lb yo zuri hybrid or 15lb fluoro.
  15. First decent bank fish in a while, absolutely inhaled the flashy swimmer. Poor guy looks like a sea lion or striper chewed on him.
  16. Small order from the recent sales, just enough for free shipping.
  17. The Hookup tackle Memorial day sale is up. 20% off, normal brand exclusions.
  18. 15 metanium DC and 23 tatula 100 both 7 speeds.
  19. This was an experiment so not exactly an accident. Took a white swimbait and painted just the back with a black spike-it marker. Let it sit for a few days and the color faded down through the bait and turned it into an awesome black back shad with red/purple highlights.
  20. I use the same one, works great.
  21. Small kastking sling bag, 2 3600 flex boxes, small double side clamshell box with misc terminal, long and short pliers, split ring pliers, line cutters, sunscreen etc. I usually keep soft plastics and anything other random bits in a plano speed bag or buzbe cube
  22. I was at fishermans warehouse and it just jumped off the rack and attacked me. Added another JDM Tat 100 while prices are still good. Spooled with 15lb Yo Zuri hybrid.
  23. 3 morning rats on the jerkbait. Getting to be the time of year where they only want live bait and the lure bite is becoming difficult.
