  1. I throw them in weeds, weed edges, cover...and in the open. It's been pretty much everywhere this year. From 1 foot to 30 feet.
  2. Auto parts are covered by the Free Trade agreement and aren't subject to additional fees.
  3. This. I keep these in 1/0, 2/0 and 3/0. This is one of my primary Free Rig hooks. I upgrade the Twistlocks up a size (as needed) and they hold very well. This is a really good hook. I use the Dolive Stick 3.5 or 4.5 as my fluke. Here's the 3.5" with a 1/0 Twist Lock Light
  4. No, but I use the Nories Hulabug bladed jig trailer...
  5. Sometimes it's the mold release..
  6. I'm surely going to give this a try! I too have a couple of shirts I should have taken off before doing some work..and have a couple of stains. I love little tips like these!
  7. The UPF usually isn't a coating on most shirts...it's a very dense weave of the fabric that does the blocking.
  8. Canadians have been getting hosed by UPS for years and years with brokerage fees. If I buy in the US, I typically want it shipped by FedEx or USPS as the "brokerage fees" are non existent or much, much less.
  9. Raid Hira Tailor on swimbait hook or underspin....or Texas rigged. Or Neko rigged. BottomUp Gimmy OSP SS Gill Deps Bull Flat Geecrack Bellows Gill could be considered also...but far less durable. They look similar to a crappie even if they have "gill" in mind. But if you want something that looks the closest in a plastic, check out the 6th Sense Panorama in Live Crappie
  10. I never use a jig head with a Keitech. Always with an underspin. Current favorite is the Duo Realis Spin Hook.
  11. A single rod with a micro sized strong snap (41lbs) and I switch between maybe...3-4 baits? I use my Tough Toad as a frog, buzzbait, popper, and it plops really well on the retrieve and makes a great nose and bubble trail. Indestructible. Very impressed with it! I have a Megabass Karashi for open water. Fun lure. I have some type of small but LOUD wake bait (Deps Buzzjet Jr., OSP BuzzN Crank Heavy Hitter, etc) And I generally like to keep a small jointed rat. It gets bit! Plus in the fall, I target Pike on light tackle and they crush this thing. I'll usually have some other JDM topwater plastic in my bag at any given time, too. That's it. If I can't get a bite with that kit...they aren't biting top water.
  12. True about beavers...I think as with all baits, location specific. There are areas here that crush the Dolive Beaver. And yet several miles away, they won't touch it...yet will smash a Geecrack Bellows Shad. No rhyme or reason. I have never used a worm on a Free Rig I'm ashamed to say. And I'm a devotee of the Free Rig. So I must remedy this. Please tell me about the mag speed worm you're referring to.
  13. Great bait!
  14. You must be doing something wrong or using the wrong line.... I fish from shore a ton...more than in my boat (I think) and I've never had a bird nest. Fellow shore fisherman with baitcasters I see getting bird nests frequently.
  15. Free Rig is far more versatile. But these are quite different presentations.
  16. It drops straight down with slack in it....it chases the sinker nearly straight down to the bottom regardless of where you're at. That's part of the appeal of the Free Rig. Also, this is a great video
  17. I love them and is pretty much all I use.
  18. This.
  19. Yes. It can do so much more than the Beaver.
  20. The Dolive Beaver (creature) and Dolive Stick (worm/fish) had been 2 of my most important, consistent Free Rig baits. But the Stick is so, so versatile. It's a trailer, a Senko, a wacky, a jerk bait, a drop shot bait, a worm, a baitfish, etc etc In particular, the rocking and tail wagging on the weightless drop is something to see! I too have always been surprised at how under the radar it's been for how good it is. And you can see in the videos below why this bait gets crushed
  21. This. AFW coated, tieable wire readily available from Amazon. I also use Berkeley Big Game mono as a leader. It does an admirable job..but it's nowhere near as tooth proof as AFW.
  22. Are you're saying that the only way your nephew can enjoy fishing is doing it competitively and at great cost? I guess many of us are fortunate that we can do it just for the pure love of fishing.
  23. Spro makes great frogs.
  24. Sounds like keeping up with the Jones is more important than fishing for those kids then..... I guess I must be a unicorn because I never cared or coveted what other fisherman were using..certainly not to the point were it caused me to enjoy fishing any less. If I had the choice between not fishing or fishing in a dinky Jon....I'll take the dinky Jon, thank you very much! LOL 😆 I never owned a boat as a teen so that would have been a dream! Fishing as we remember it still exists if you truly want it to.
  25. Such a great frog! Have you tried the Kaera S2?
