Yeah buying from Japan is definitely the way to go. I think(but could be wrong) it is a garuntee tariff on every purchase to US because digitaka charges you at checkout for it.

Hey guys, What are your favorite BFS baits to use? I am making a list for my next tackle warehouse order. Some things I have liked so far is a finesse jig in 1/8 or 1/16 ounce, the micro bladed jig, and a mini square bill.

I would just get the Shimano slx xt. It’s a little over 115 but it’s the best budget reel you’re gonna get.

Yeah the difference is about $30 from digitaka, which is really not that much. And I would assume casting would be similar since main difference is the frame material. I will definitely watch that review. Maybe bantam being oos on digitaka for the lefty I want is contributing to my decision…

So you are saying to get the bantam because the metanium isnt that much lighter? I mean it’s 1.4 ounces, which is still a good bit lighter. Also can you tell me more about the levelwind problems? I have never heard about them.

My usual strategy is to keep a couple soft plastic bags with me by my seat, and my bag with 4 3600 tackle boxes gets strapped to the back of the kayak. I generally don't switch baits too much on my kayak, and don't go out for super long periods of time. I take 3 rods with me.

This is my first tournament that I'm actively watching, and man this is fun!

I do not have experience with either braking system you mentioned. But, I am definitely not a fan of the mag trax brakes. The new paramag should be better, but for pure distance I think svs infinity will still be on top. Between a daiwa 34mm floating spool like the zillion and svs inifinity I think you just have to choose which one you prefer. Both are great in my opinion.

Why would you take the zillion over the metanium? I was looking at getting the 23 met and I already have the 21 zillion sv.

Tactical bass in likes their rods. I felt a new eagle in store and it felt very nice for the price. Perfectly balanced with Vanford. The same actions and lengths for each line is also cool.

I didn’t unscrew the yoke with those posts. It is a constant thing you feel and slightly hear when reeling mainly under tension or with a lure on. I added a drop of oil to it

That is the exact noise, but mine is not quite that loud. Maybe that’s just how his mic picked it up but that is how it sounds. Maybe I should stick to zillion then. Like mine better anyways. On the zillion hd how does the finis holdup? How about the alphas sv? Next time I open one I will use Shimano. But I did the same thing to my curado 150 after 1 year of use and it felt great…

I have put it together multiple times with the same feeling and I tightened all the handle side screws in small increments going back and forth between eachother if that makes sense.

No I didn’t grease anything but the gears. Oil on bearings.

I followed a video but I could try and re watch it again and make sure. The pinion yoke was definitely in the right way at least according to what I was watching.

If so, how long would it take to feel the same as before?

Which metaniums have brass vs aluminum main gear? Don't the current 23 and 20 metaniums from japan both use brass?

Do you know what the difference is between the 23 metanium and 20 metanium? It looks like they have the same line capacity based on JLS.

Yeah I would like to feel a metanium in person. Maybe at a fishing show I will be able to soon. I was originally planning on getting the slx dc xt, but I feel like the metanium will be a big step up in refinement for not that much more money. Also, there’s really no need for a dc and it cost extra.

Hey guys, So I was bored over the cold days and decided to take apart my tatula 100(new model 23 or 24). I followed a video and cleaned the gears and added new grease. I know it may have been a mistake to take apart a reel that was functioning perfectly fine, but I have used it for a full season and wanted to try taking apart a reel (not super experienced with it). After reassembling the reel, it is not as smooth as before I took it apart. It feels geary and just not as smooth or nice. I have tried reassembling it multiple times but it still feels the same. Does anyone have any advice or thoughts about what could have gone wrong? Thanks in advance, Bryce

Are you still able to get the reel for 225? Also, have you gotten to fish the reel anymore? After watching the reel test videos, it may be worth a shot trying one. Also looking at getting a metanium so let me know if you have any thoughts.

I got my expride for $240 and couldn’t be happier with it. 6’10 ml. The zodias also got redesigned with a new reel seat that I prefer. You could also look at the Fenwick elite. I held the Fenwick eagle in store and it felt really nice and balanced well.
