  1. Do you remember the specifics from the event last year? How much did you get off?
  2. Will this effect Japan prices?
  3. The zillion is really nice for sure. Are you actually interested in selling your reels? I need a new 150-200 size reel that’s a little heavier than what I have now to balance out my frog rod.
  4. To me it is a fun way to fish rather than replacing spinning gear. I still use spinning in many situations. Bfs fishing makes the fight more fun and I like casting gear better than spinning normally. Big fish is this 5.85 from the bank on a 1/16th little jig with a 2” or less soft plastic.
  5. What’s the difference between the zillion hd and the 21 regular sv?
  6. Yeah for sure. Sounds like a good day of fishing even if it was just one keeper. Need to get out there I haven’t really much this winter.
  7. Have you got a lot of use on the new hyperdrive Daiwas like the 100?
  8. Alright guys, Tatula 100 vs. Curado 150. To start off, I am not super experienced or saying this is set in stone. This is just my comparison between the two. The Tatula 100 new model definitely feels good in hand. The curado is also very smooth and I think it wins in that category. Hard to say because both of my reels probably need re greased, which I’m doing this winter. For casting they were very close with the Curado spooled with 17 pound stren mono and the tatula spooled with 12 stren mono. I originally planned to use the same line but this is what I had on me without taking off other reels. I used jigs with trailer both weighing 14 grams(both 1/4 bitsy bugs). The curado averaged half a foot farther than the tatula over 8 casts, both on 6’10 medium heavy fast rods. So using that logic the curado would definitely out cast the tatula 5-10 feet with the same line.
  9. I’ve heard about the Type R but really don’t know much about older reels. What was the tatula type R? I started fishing about 3 years ago and love talking about gear.
  10. Yeah I saw the reel test video and was surprised he didn’t really say much negative about it. Not sure if I would ever spend that much on a kastking but it’s definitely interesting.
  11. I got the 2 for 100 bogo on the Cobb rods last year. The 6’11 medium regular is good for small cranks and I got the 7’3 mh mod fast composite. Ended up selling that one because I wasn’t really a fan of the composite rods weight. Overall still good deal for $100
  12. Keep me updated on how it does. I have the newer tatula 100 I’ve been fishing for a season and it’s been good so far.
  13. I am going to test my curado mgl 150 vs the tatula 100 (new version) when I get the same line on both.
  14. I have abu garcia reels, lews, daiwa, and shimano casting reels. Spinning reels I have a shimano and daiwa. Personally, I prefer the feel of the Daiwa spinning reels. I compared a miravel and a legalis in store and based off feel the legalis had less start up inertia than the miravel which is shimanos mgl. For baitcasters I like both brands. My zillion is definitely smoothest, but my curado 150 will out cast it. My lews lfs is for frogging. Just try a variety of brands and see what you like. I would definitely try Daiwa and Shimano if your spending over 100.
  15. Hey, Has anyone added a drag clicker to their curado mgl? This is the previous gen now not the newest one. I just love the clicker on my zillion and wish my curado had it to. Anyone have any recommendations or experience adding one? If you know of any decent ones let me know. Thanks, Bryce
  16. Hm. What do you think a 3000 vanford would balance on then? A shorter rod? It wouldn’t really make sense if they made them too light to balance any rods. 4000 is definitely a little big.
  17. Which one balances on the zodias 7’2 tho? I feel like the rear grip is pretty light.
  18. Well I was actually comparing it to a new fm in the store. But mine is the fl which is from 2019 I think. What size vanford do you have? The c3000hg is only 210 shipped from digitaka
  19. Hey guys, I currently have a stadic fl 2500 hg that is in pretty good condition. I was in a Cabela’s store the other day and in comparison the tatula and vanford felt much smoother and easier to turn than the stradic. The rod I currently use is a 7’2 ml+ zodias for shakeyhead, drop shot, ned, wacky rig. Would it be a bad idea to switch to a vanford or the tatula mq? I know everyone here praises the stradic but is it going to be that much more durable? Glad to hear anyone’s thoughts. Thanks, Bryce
  20. Ok thank you I think you’re right that I need to just get out and fish it.
  21. I haven’t fished it yet, just felt it in my room. But to me it feels like they took the 7’ medium heavy moderate fast and cut 2 inches off the tip. I have never felt the finesse jig model in store so it may just be stiffer than I assumed. It is still lightweight but when I was bending it it didn’t seem to have much give. Maybe that is how it is and I just need to fish it.
  22. Do you have any idea about the lowrider? I haven’t felt any falcon rods in store in a little while but this one feels off to me. I ordered in August and got it recently. It’s the finesse jig model. I’m going to try and find some in store to feel soon.
