Anyone getting gear hate?
I'd say if you want it, as long as you have the money, have plenty of food on the table, your kids have good shoes...and your wife says okay, then buy what you want. Those folks are probably just jealous. I literally have a river cane pole rigged with twine and mono that i catch fish with... but i also have several rods and reels that I've spent hundreds on. Ignore them.

Fishing memory vs day to day memory
I remember the big fish, yessir! Luckily my memory seems to automatically add a pound or two each time i recall those catches. 😊

Who still uses old style plastic worms?
Yes. Still have some Mann's, some The Tube Worm's and Creme's pre-rigged from 40+ years ago (my grandfather's before he died). Creme are still making these.

Weird question
Yeah...dang things have taken over down here (Arkansas/ Louisiana). Thanks a lot catfish farmers. 😠

What have you lost over the side?
Years ago, i was fly fishing from a john-boat on a private lake with my brother-in-law, lost my grip on a Cortland Embassy Reel and White River rod. Over it went. I may have managed to grab it had i just squatted down a grabbed it, but...I panicked and jumped in after it. Never saw the rod or reel again. Took me a while to pull myself back into the boat with sop-n-wet denim overalls.

Do you service your reels?
Like many of you, I take my reels apart once a year and give them a good cleaning and fresh oil. Don't have the fancy tools, but i like the looks of some of the tools posted above.

Heavy Lilly pads
Excellent video, Glenn. After watching your video through twice, i dug my Silver Minnows out from my tackle bag. Honestly haven't used one in...i don't know when. Can't wait to get out on the water (perhaps tomorrow), skirt one up and see what happens. Thanks again. I've heard some soak their peanuts in PowerBait (or similar) attractant to scent their tubes. Ever tried that? Think it helps?

Tokyo Rig?
I was wondering about that.

Heavy Lilly pads
Love fishing the pads. Gotta try the added spinnerbait skirts to the silv minnows. Never occured to me to do that. Thanks, Catt. Fished all my life, but I'm really learning a lot from you guys on this forum. Great stuff! 👍👍

A couple more jigs
Great stuff, Blake. Been tying for years, but just getting in to tying jigs and bass poppers/bugs. I'm a bit behind finding your thread here, nevertheless...thanks for posting the pics!

Why not check licenses at registration. Surprised they don't.

Why not Cabelas?
The nearest town from where I live is almost 30 minutes away, and it's very small. Buy local means Wal-Mart. I order my bass fishing gear from Bass Pro/Cabellas. Always have. Beats a two hour drive to the nearest town with a outdoor store. I buy all my fly fishing/ tying supplies online too.

Tokyo Rig?
This is exactly why I was asking. All the rivers/creeks I fish have rocky bottoms. No doubt your weighted Tokyo rig might still wedge itself in the rocks occasionally. Also might use it fishing Lilly pads for that vertical drop. I'm sure my go to technique with plastics will always be the Texas. I'll try anything though. Part of the fun.

Tokyo Rig?
- Tokyo Rig?
I'm sure some of you have used the Tokyo Rig with plastics. Any luck? Advice? Thanks for your input. Just noticed someone posted more or less the same question a year or so ago. Sorry about that.- Snagging channel cats
I've snagged quite a few cats in farm ponds. I've even caught several cats that's eaten my flies while fly fishing. They'll totally destroy a fly. They'll explode on spinnerbaits too, as others have mentioned. They're fun though, so...- Giant Trevally
Wow. That's a trip on my bucket list. I'd love to fish down there. Maybe the Keys?- Would you rather catch...?
I don't really care... as long as it's a big bass.- I'll be back
Get well, @Catt. No fun at all being sick. - Tokyo Rig?
