  1. If there is no wind the Thermcell is the way to go. Any kind of wind and I put on deepwoods off and wear long shelf shirts and pants. But it's hard to beat the Thermecell, grew up duckhunting the marsh's and swamp's of swla and let me till you we got some mean needle nose blood suckers down there aka September teal season and the thermcell keeps them off better then anything I have ever tried.
  2. Catt, I hope that's not your truck.
  3. I'm getting ready to head out in this rain up here today. Ribbet bite should be awesome in this rain today.
  4. The frogs or the bass lol.
  5. Me and dad caught 21 this afternoon and evening. 14 on baby ribbets and 7 on caffine swimmin shad. No size to right home about but soild 14 to 16 inch fish.
  6. You got that right Catt, I will be there mid week while down on work buisness. Can't wait to hit my old stompin grounds.
  7. I had a few black max reels when I first start getting into bass fishing and they were great, they just didn't last long, the thumb bar started sticking bad and then the gears just gave out. My best bro has a pro max and it is a great reel as well and has held up fine for three years now, he likes it . I run Lews reels now and can't say enough how good they are.
  8. Little fish, good luck with the wind this afternoon.
  9. Lol sorry bout that the pool isn't part of Toledo bend. It's a wma in swla.
  10. The fish on San Miguel can be found shallow and deep right now. Shallow in the morning on top water deep mid day and shallow in late evening on top water. I live on San Miguel. For finding deep water bass I use my hook and line map, two good anchors and a fishfinder and find bass on humps or in creek channels from 15 to 25 feet right now. Hope this helps sir.
  11. Cool deal thanks for the heads up Catt.
  12. How's the water looking, might be down next week for some work related buisness might have to go hit the pool while I'm down that way.
  13. Get a clear glass and take your fuel line off the motor then insert aflat nose screw driver in the fuel connection that way it is open like if it was attached to the motor, then pump on the fuel bulb and it will pump fuel out and into the glass fill it to half full and stop. If the fuel comes out a ugly white murky color you have water in your fuel, if not let it set in the glass till it calms down then look for trash in it. Stabil is the last thing I would use in my fuel, been there tryed that got tired of replacing spark plugs every motor I tried it in started smoking bad after I put that stuff in it. If your running ethanol gas more then likely you have water in the system, ethanol gas makes water bad, either from sitting in the boats gas tank or from sitting in the tank at the gas station. I hope you get it figured out sir
  14. Catt, was you at the pool?
  15. Thank good all the Remington rifles I own or very old models of the 700 action. After the way Remington did me on the worthless cti 105 shotgun and the r-30 rifle they had developed few years ago I wouldn't have anything to do with Remington again, they are a worthless company run by worthless people.
  16. Model 96 40 cal Beretta my main carry pistol and a Smith and Wesson M model six inch 357 for back up pistol. If you are going to shoot a man shoot him with something that will drop him in one shot but is soft kicking enough to get off kill shots rapid fire at close range if need be. Train with the weapon, holster and ammo you intend to defend yourself with and then train some more when your done start over and train some more. I spent seven years in the sand box and the 40 is still keeping me safe Hope this helps sir.
  17. Sounds like water are trash in the gas. If you have a fuel filter are water separator you need to pull them and clean them good. If the gas is old dump it and refill the tank and put in some good additives to clean the fuel s yestem and reduce or remove water from the fuel. Won't hurt to check and see if the plugs need to be changed. Google nonethanol gas and only run that in your motor, ethanol gas is the devil when it comes to outboards, even more so if you leave fuel in the motor and fuel line and let the boat sit for more then a week. Hope this helps sir.
  18. Went out this today from noon till five and caught seven on the ribbet bigest was a skinny 2 1/2 pounder the rest were just over 14 inches. Caught four more on the swim bait only one of those was 14 inch's the rest were under. Moved to deeper water put on the watermelon red yum dinger and found six more bites all of these were 14 to 15 inches. Maybe not big fish but it was still fun even if my knees got sun burnt.
  19. I downloaded the app, let's see if I can win something.
  20. Lews super duty paired to a Powell inferno 7'3" Heavy action fast tip has been doing frog work and punching mats for me on Toledo Bend for three years and can't think how I could improve on what I have.
  21. Moss green 15# big game is my choice, I tryed the 12 and the 15 is better for where I fish stronger and doesn't get frayed up as easy. I only use two lines Big game 15# ( every bait other then frogs) PP 40# braid (frogs only)
  22. Boy the sun just can't go down fast enough, I'm burning holes in the carpet ready to go night fishing tonight.
  23. Baby ribbet on a double take hook around grass and or flooded brush till the water drops below 60 degress.
  24. Very nice bass Sir and well done. Just going off what I know the bass to be weight wise down here in Toledo Bend I would say that bass is 4:10 to 5 half. If it was full of eggs it could be closer to 6 to 6 and half pounds. Again very nice catch Sir.
  25. Not really good at all, i need to fish it more this summer.
