  1. Even though I live in TX and their not that rare I still consider 5lbs big.
  2. Busting out over the 4 and a half guess. I may end up looking silly for typing that but that fish has to be bigger than that 6lbs 7oz
  3. Its going to hit the fan when RW sees that.
  4. Holy shnikes a new record so soon. 74 words. Zero periods. Seriously I don't mean to go all Long Mike on you, but thats a little overboard.
  5. Lol. 44 words and one period.
  6. I was very skeptical at first and decided to give them a shot when Senko77 recommended them. I did accidentally stumble on a HUGE school of jumping fish one day and threw a crankbait 20-30 times with only one hook-up that didn't make it to the boat. Picked up a yellow perch laser lure and proceeded to catch them every other cast. Now the other crankbait I was fishing was a chartruse color so it could of been the color. However, these jumping fish turned out to be sand bass and they aren't the pickiest things in the world, Also had a big bass break me off on the yellow perch laser. Not quite ready to say they make a huge difference, but at worst they are a good crankbait.
  7. I've been using Quicksilver for about a year and have had no issues. My merc manual says to use mercury oil or twc-3 any use of anything else will void your warranty. Or something like that. I can get Quiksilver right down the steet at Napa so thats what I use.
  8. Actually your not going to believe this, but Pork Rinds are fine for the Atkins diet. I was watching a How its Made episode a couple of weeks ago b/c I love the things, and they actually said that they have had a big boom in sales recently b/c of the Atkins Diet. Those delicious things have no carbs apparently. Fell out of my chair when I heard they could be considered good for you.
  9. You are offcially the toughest guy I know. Have no clue how you could have 50 yellowjackets biting you and not know. Are you related to Chuck Norris?
  10. I'd be glad to look, but honestly i'm not going to read the color on every bag i've never seen before. Do you have a picture of one or can you describe the color to narrow it down a little.
  11. Thats a good one.
  12. I love CXX and part of having all its advantages is dealing with a little memory. KVD will greatly help that and basically elimanate the lines flaws. However, you shouldn't have issues straight of the shelf. Either you didn't spool the line tight, spooled it the wrong way off the spool or purchased old line straight off the shelf. I will be the first to admit that if you are going to fish cxx you just have to prepare yourself for a little memory, and its only a little if you use KVD. I would rather deal with a little memory though than fish breaking me of in the stump infested lakes I fish. It should never, ever have memory on the first cast.
  13. I always thought it would be cool to do anything fishing for a living. However, I know a very busy guide on Fork that I consider a friend and he put it in perspective one day for me when he said "when I started guiding i gained a job and lost a hobby." He still loves what he does but its not the same as just fishing and doing what you want.
  14. Bizz, The only reason i've been checking this thread is to see what you had to say. Had a feeling you were going to kill this one.
  15. Nice fish, but a weird looking worm. My partner just backed out on me for Wed. if you want to go try it.

    That personal best is crazy.
  17. killed em and caught em pretty good depends on how many beers i've had.
  18. I would buy every single one that they had in a natural baitfish color.
  19. Yes you are absolutely right. ANYONE younger than you tries to do it the easy way. We are all lazy and lucky they allow us to be a member of the same forum. Exactly how old does someone have to be before they can develop there own thoughts and ways of pattering fish? Please be careful before painting everyone with the same brush. Fish, great idea for a thread. Made me realize that many times that i have without knowing predicted sweet spots based upon the types of trees. I have never stopped to break it down though and further my knowledge of trees I can't id and what type of soil they grow in. Great way to start a thread without being condescending to many of the members here.
  20. While were on the truth serum did you actually weigh the fish on a scale or are you guesstimating?
  21. I guess gay sunglasses help catch bass in Kansas.
  22. This just made my day. I'm glad your back. I was afraid you had given up on us.

Thats like saying if I entered an Indy Car race I would be a favorite to beat Danika Patrick b/c I'm a male. How many times in those 134 tries were the phillies you mentioned favored to win the race? I'm not arguing that phillies are on an equal playing field with the boys most of the time, but Rachel Alexandra was the favorite to win that race.
