  1. Had a great day on Fork on Tuesday. Unfortunately I was only able to manage one crankbait fish. They really wanted plastics flipped to the edge of trees, but fortunately this 5 lb 8oz girl wanted the BR lure. Who wants it next. I can't mail it until a week from tommorow b/c of work commitments. I would like to get it to someone attending the roadtrip that way they can bring it with them and several members can give it a whack in the course of a week.
  2. If there would of been a little less wind I think I could of caught every fish in the lake. South wind made it a little tough fishing the North end. If wind could of been just 12 like they were calling it would of been a great day. The 4 and 5 lbers were easy to catch today.
  3. Great job. I can't wait for those days.
  4. Agreed, but I wasn't planning of catcing anything of size. There is noway to tell size without a scale so it really didn't matter to me. I was pretty convinced the fish was 6 something and frustrated with myself for not being prepared. Even with a rod or dollar bill we will never know for sure. In this case you will just have to trust me. Sorry.
  5. Nice job. The red mouth is from eating crawfish I believe.
  6. Had an hour or so to kill after work today and ran up to the pond. All my gear was on the boat so I grabbed an old reel my buddy had over here and put it on one of my old junk rods laying around. Glad the stuff was laying around the garage. In less than 10 casts this momma hit. Scales were on the boat but I'm guessing she would of been high 5's low 6's. Biggest ever out of the pond was 4lbs 8oz.
  7. I must admit it was pretty cool getting the BR lure today, seeing a few teeth marks in it and wondering where and how they got there. I hope I can add a few more.
  8. I would release the fish, but we are all kiddng ourselves if we don't think catch and realease can't be overdone. Someone electing to keep the fish would not be the end of the world. If everyone let everything they caught our fisheries would be in bad shape. In fact in the southern states we should prbably keep anything under 3 lbs.
  9. Fat guy in a little boat.
  10. It's great to hear I have a do it myself option. I haven't been under the boat and looked since last August or so. I don't know how long this spot has been there. Is there anything in particular I should look for in case this spot has been there for a couple of months.
  11. Cart, Suggestions on a material/product to patch it with?
  12. Just short of 4. Good job.
  13. Thanks to a stump or something I now have a ugly little spot on the bottom of my boat. It is about 3 inches long and maybe a 1/4" wide. Its all the way through to the fiberglass and right on a chine. I really don't want to take it in to the end of the year. Will this be ok, and what am I risking by not having it repaired right away? Also, is it something that has to be fixed or can I elect to live with it?
  14. Wow too sad. He gave me countless memories with my father. Thank you and good day, Paul.
  15. Bless ya'll. I hope everything work out.
  16. Google Tom Redington and read his reports. They aren't updated daily but they are the best. Plus he knows what he is talking about. I would rather have info from someone that knows what there talking about every two weeks then daily info from someone that might or might not know.
  17. A lady caught a 13.9lber yesterday out fishing with a guide.
  18. Awesome stuff. Just like anything else it has it's disadvantages. CXX seems to have a little more memory than other brands of the same size, but the abrasion resistance and toughness is more than worth it imo. A little KVD line and lure conditioner the night before and at the end of each day fishing does wonders for the memory.
  19. You have to go to an Academy. They are an Academy house brand so just like Cabela's and BPS lures you can't buy them other places. Unbelievable lures btw. They would be acceptable at Lucky Craft prices for 3-4 bucks you aren't going to beat them.
  20. I didn't realize there was a secondary channel or that the barge wakes were manageable with some caution. Thanks for the info.
  21. I don't know. Maybe the Zillion does feel a little more solid. If I concede that though you have to give me that the Revo feels solid enough to make it 5++ years. By that time the latest greatest thing will have come out, and I will have been converting to those for some time. I've only had the Zillion out one trip so I might be a lillte premature in my review. If you are available anytime you have missed a lot of Wed's when you could of been fishing. Just let me know when you want to go. You are welcome anytime. I go to Fork this time of year just about every week so we can finally get you on out there.
  22. Maybe, and it should be said that all my Revo experience is with the with the S, SX and STX. Even if I wouldn't of liked the winch I still think for the money I would rather have a SX or STX since I don't do a lot of deep cranking. Again not knocking the Zillion, but trying to point out the huge bargain the Revo's are.
  23. I just recently bought a Daiwa Zillion crazy crankster. It took a lot for me to do this since I had almost just recently completed my complete switch over to all Revo's. I've only had the Zillion out one trip, but I really, really wish I would of saved 70 bucks and bought the Revo Winch. Not knocking the Zillion it preformed fine, but not any better than my Revo's. To make my decision worse is Abu was offering a free pair of Wiley X glasses at the time, I think they still are.
