With a 40lb stringer to it's credit, I'd have to give Mashpee Wakeby the nod.

Tough to pick a bad lake here in NY. You know it's good fishing when you have places like Erie, Oneida, Champlain, Chautauqua, 1000 islands, Black Lake, Cayuga, etc.... all within a resonable drive from me, and I don't bother going to any of them because the fishing on the handfull of lakes close to the house is good enough that it's hard to justify the travel.

Lk Erie for numbers and giant smallies. The largie fishing in the bay aint too shabby either.

Well we do have part of Lake of the Woods in Manitoba, so that would be the best, but one entirely contained within my province, probably Crowduck Lake.

Yup.  I heard the guy that lead a tournament two weeks ago had a 12lb and a 9lb on the first day.

 

I'm pretty sure he's catching them around docks with swim jigs with a big custom (local?) paddle tail trailer year round too.

 

My wife's parents live at Calhoun, I'm still exploring Chick.  It's the place to fish in Tennessee now.

 

Dale Hollow tournament two weeks ago had just shy of 200 anglers 2 day tournament weighed 3200 lbs of fish.  They have weird slot sizes on smallies too so some people had to turn back 19-20inch smallies.  Those are big fish.

I would have to say smith mountain lake, because of the numbers of 3-4 pounders, its crazy.

I think I rememebr the guys really jockeying for spots..... big lake, but fishes small. Seems like there was 2-3 spots that evereyone wanted to fish, almost side by side.

Honestly, I don't know the lake well enough.  I mainly fish the Hiwassee from Charleston to the main channel.  I've not fished much from the dam to that point.    I know people like fishing grass, riprap dam side and docks. 

Where is that lake located? I normally have to travel all the way up a few minutes past grand rapids from coon rapids to get some good largemouth 

 

Right of 35W in forest lake. Across from Running Aces. Great lake for both bass and Walleye. I mainly fish it for Bass though. I have seen monster tigers pulled out of the lake. Take 35N to 97 (lake drive)

 

If you don't eat it Golden in Circle Pines/Lexington is a great lake. Fish it from shore. I have seen 5 and 6lbs Large mouths pulled out. I have also seen a 31in Northers and 30in catfish pull out. If you go on it, it is no inboard/outboard allowed. So bring a small boat with a trolling or fish from the shore.

Hand down Lake St. Clair up here. We have amazing Smallmouth fishing. Theres also great pike, musky, walleye, perch, and cat fishing too.

SHHHH... Maine has bass ?

 

Kezar Lake and China Lake in ME. There has been more then one 10lber caught out of both of them. Both places have a lot of 4-6 lbers.

 

Lake Champlain in VT. Big smallmouth and largemouth. Bass everywhere 100 fish days possible.

Oklahoma: I'll go with Tenkiller

In Florida it is Toho. Not because I like it, in fact it is one of my least favorites to tourney fish.  Just for the huge number of 5+ pound fish.  For the last several years it has taken 25+ pounds to even be close to the money.  30 lbs will not even guarantee you a win.

Not to discount Potholes which is a superior tournament lake. Moses Lake see's very little pressure once the spawn is over and still produces quality limits all summer and fall. Plus it is the right size for my 60HP basstracker (:

Probably Santee Cooper. But most if the professional tournys that come here always go to Murray , Strom Thurmond ( aka Clark's hill... Why we ever decided to name it something different than Clark's hill is beyond me) or Lake Hartwell.

have you seen the weights coming out of Wateree lately?? Giant stringers. I'm sure Santee is still at the top in our state though.
