worms

I've been cleaning out and re-arranging my plastics bags. I use BPS double sided binder bags for plastics, and have one I've used for several years just for worms.

It got slowly taken over by big worms; to the point that most of the smaller worms did not get replaced as they were used up.

This year I bought a larger double binder just for big worms, and now my smaller worm bag is better than half empty. It's time to restock.

I still have plenty of straight worms, trick worms, t-mac worms, kut-tails, etc. I need some curl-tail worms. Nothing really large; something in the 6 - 8 inch range.

What are some of your favorites?

Mann 's Augertail  ;)

Yum Ribbontail in Junebug and Tequila sunrise, Berkley in Motoroil and Watermelon red flake, Rage Thumper in junebug, culprit in crawdad, redshad, and Green Pumpkin.  Those are probably what I'd consider my stand-by worms.

Can you still buy those? I've used those, and done well doing so. But, it's been a long time since I've either had any, or seen any.

Zoom Ultr-vibe Speed Worms - that's the ticket!!

Try the Junebug, Junebug-red and Redbug - drag 'em along the bottom and hang on!

Culprit ribbon tail worms! None better!

I've recently had good luck with the Berkley Power worm in black and motor oil. In fact, I caught 5 back to back with the black worm. I ain't never done that!

Rage Tail Baby Anaconda.

> Zoom 7" Mag Ultra Vibe (slit paddle-tail)

> Culprit 7 Fat Max (sickle-tail)

> Berkley 10" Power Worm (ribbon-tail - Remove 6 ribs)

> Manns Hardnose Worm (ribbon-tail)

Culrpit ribbiontail in Junebug and Red Shad

Berkley Powerworms in Black

Rage Tail Anaconda in any color

Always catch fish on those.

These all qualify as real confidence baits for me, depending on conditions...5 options, all by ZOOM:

G-tail ringer

Shakey Tail

U-Tail

6" Dead Ringer

8" Dead Ringer

Junebug and Watermelon Red are the only colors I really need, but they come in quite the array...

Power worms-Motor oil

Culprit worms-Red shad, or red shad with the silver flake in it.

I Like too 8" Dead Ringer and Culprit 7.5" Ribbon tail

Another vote for Zoom U-Tale.

Thanks for posting that, Bill!

I caught a lot of fish on those a lot in their first incarnation, and I'm glad that they're bringing them back.

I have a big bunch of them even in colors no longer made ( like motor oil shad ), since I liked them so much I hoarded a "few" packs. As you mention, they lost popularity to other baits and many dealers no longer carry them so they are hard to get unless you order them directly from Mann 's.

I like Yum's stuff except their worms have the seem right where I rig the hook and it ends up splitting along the seem on me somtimes....with that being said I like some of the Zoom and Culprit ribbon tails.

Berkley power worms are always great but they cost more and you get less per pack, I'm not sure if that's always worth it to me.

Manns Jelly Worm, the only worm you'll ever need.
