I like it for a midsized glide... nice s-pattern plus it seemed to respond well to a rod twitch, pause cadence. There's something about the Antidote's action I still like best for this size and price point, but the Arashi will definitely be staying in the rotation and getting some more time next time out.

Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Had my boss and his son over today . Primary goal was bream. The 2nd bream Alex hooked , as he had it almost to the dock , a bass clobbered the bream and he hooked the bass right in the corner of the

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

How far are you from Lenoir City?

That's not bad, I might have to look you up next time we are down there visiting my wife's parent's. They live on the Tennessee River in Lenoir City.

Is that part of the river right there any good for fishing?

I'm going to go see if I can find any footage of that, thanks!

Is that the Fort Loudon Lock?  Her parents live on Conkinnon Drive, the river looks pretty wide right there. Is the current pretty strong?

Yes that’s Loudon right below the dam. It’s way wider above the dam! Haha. The current is ripping right now but it’s been rainy recently. When it’s dry the current is off and on.

52* when I got off work at 0600 this morning. Walked in the door at 0615 and Lake was stumbling down the hallway. I'd already been thinking it, so I tossed out "Hey buddy, want to go fishing?" He smiled a sleepy grin and nodded his head, got permission from momma, on the water by 0700, he caught the first fish on his second cast with a float-n-fly. We ended up with 15 in the boat, the biggest a crawdad short of 4 pounds that engulfed my 6th Sense Provoke. Water was 39-41, had to barely move it and wait them out, no bites, they were just there when I moved it next time. Lots of other boats on the little puddle. Had a great time with my little buddy ?

Picked up over a dozen from a small 4 acre lake yesterday from the bank; all about the same size and most on blade bait. Might get one or two more bank trips in this week, but warmer March weather has arrived (50s) and I’ve started boat prepping in expectation of finally getting out on open water this coming weekend.

First fish of 2020, caught swimming a ned. Been a long winter since we never got enough safe ice for ice fishing. Ice finally melted for the last time (hopefully) on Saturday, so the water is still pretty frigid.

When I checked the 7 day forecast last week I was happy to see that Monday - Wednesday we'd be back in the 50's, but once again Saturday and Sunday would be harsh. 20's with high speed N winds on Sat and not much better on Sunday. More post cold front challenges. Uhg.

Yesterday we had blustery S winds, so I hit the N cove right off the bat at 9pm. They wanted nothing moving fast or moving much at all, so I stuck to the bottom nice and slow. No bite and runs, just slurp and spits. I kept missing until I didn't. I had 2 shake off at my feet, but got one in finally. We moved up the shore to deeper water and threw some big wakes and glides. I didn't get a sniff, but my buddy hooked into a whopper on the Bull Shad slow sink. He almost got her in, but one jump and a tail slap and the big girl was bye bye. I only wish I was filming the scene. You could 've heard his cries of OMG a mile away. Rolling around on the ground, feet up in the air, arms outstretched. Whyyyyy! Priceless

Holy poop! That's a ton of water! I used to fish that from a kayak in college. A lot of big fish in/around the current at normal releases - one of my favorite places to fish.  I had a 20+ lb striper take me about 3 miles downriver on a fly. I had a love/hate relationship with that fish.

No striped bass today but did snag a little guy

I get 3 personal days a year to use and they are a "use em or lose em" type deal so I always take a Friday off in November during the rut and 2 Fridays off in the Spring to fish. Well today was one of them and I was blessed with beautiful weather. Got on the water about 8:30 this morning and it was 34 degrees. Didn't hook up till about 10:15 and ended up catching a few. Nothing big, only 2 worth getting their picture taken. A 3.2 and a 3.8, both caught on a Spro Little John MD in Old Fire Tiger.

Well for the last month or so my fishing has resulted in only a dink here and there. Lucky to get one bite. But a recent warming trend has finally woken up the big girls, and they’re ready to eat...

Got some new rattle traps in spring colors and put them to work today, after I got off work. I can say that at least one works! Little football grabbed it around 10 feet on the bottom. Crappie tail sticking out of its throat and it still wanted the bluegill trap for desert! 3lb fish with a 5lb gut!

5.7 and a 5.2 in the dark! Both around 21”

Finally got to change it up a little and do a day of cold water fishing Thursday. Had plans to fish one of the trout lakes, it was an absolute bust. There was a terrible algae bloom and visibility was about foot and the water was surprisingly cold still. I stayed way longer than I should have to catch a dozen small bass, a few trout, a drum, and a wiper. Got back to the lake by my house around noon, I should have stayed by the house.

30 minutes of fishing I had a 15.5lb limit. Texted my wife and she wanted to come out with my youngest son since it was fairly nice out. Finn hasn't gotten the exposure to fishing that Lake had by the time he was 3, so I've got some making up to do. He did good cranking them in despite the howling winds though.

He's still not willing to hold them, but I did get him to start touching the fish and he thought that was pretty funny, so it's a start.

Ended the day with 4.5 hours on the lake and nearly 19 pounds on a 6th Sense Provoke and War Eagle finesse spinnerbait.
