One Album For The Rest Of Your Life?

Featured Replies

So I'm out running errands this morning, listening to

and thought to myself, "I could listen to this one cd for the rest of my life!"

So, if you had to choose one cd to listen to from now on, what is it?

I read your post earlier and have been thinking about it.  While I can't narrow it down to just one the three that I am torn between are

1.  Led Zeppelin IV

2. AC/DC  Back in Black

3. Metallica The Black Album

There are some other very good ones out there that I had to eliminate, and at a close number 4 was KISS Double Platinum, 5.U2 the Joshua Tree.  Anyway......

Nice Mark,  I was thinking the Black album.

Black was good....just not as good as AJFA.  But other than the St. Anger crud they released, all Metallica is awesome.

The only problem I have with that album is it's too short..I wish they had put a couple more tracks on it.

Back in the day, that was all they could fit on vinyl.  Look at Permanent Waves - 5 songs, plus that turd "Different Strings," lol.

Careful, you are dating yourself, next thing you know you will be talking about Pioneer Supertuners, Jensen Tri Axials, and 8 track tapes.

I'm only 42, going on 5.  Perpetually going on 5.

good question because it's not about your favorite band/artist, but more about a single album you could listen to forever.... for me a good album is one that doesn't make me want to skip a single song.  It's hard to just pick one, but a couple maybe yeah.

311 - soundsystem

nas - illmatic

rage against the machine - evil empire AND battle of los angeles, just combine into one album....

They could have fit more, vinyl or not, and what about throwing some bonus tracks on a remaster??

Most of the "Deluxe" versions on iTunes have extra tracks.  2112 has some unreleased live tracks added.

Couldn't do it, there's too much music out there to listen to.

Any one album, over time, would wear thin. There are many great ones, but just one would not work for me. It just really depends on my mood and activity-Emmylou's Red Dirt Girl would not work for working out at the gym...

Well... let me take this to left field and say probably 50 Cent's "Get Rich or Die Trying."  Or maybe Nelly's "Nellyville."  Man, I feel out of place on music with yall haha

No way I could pick one album. My tastes vary too much and often.

I think that's a close one - IV's pretty good too.
