Would You Buy This Reel?

Dick's has a single pflueger patriarch spinning reel in the display case.  it does not come with the spare aluminum spool, neoprene bag, box, papers, etc.  just the reel as is.  i messed with it and inspected closely and it seems to be in perfect working order.  the deal is that it can be had for $75.  Would you buy this reel as described for $75 with an MSRP of $200?

I didn't particularly care for the reel, but I'd buy another for $75 and give it a chance. Some deals are just too good to pass up.

I'm assuming this is the blue Patriarch and not the new one?

Without a second thought. Bad thing is then I'd have to buy a rod for it too  :eyebrows:

I've seen a lot of returned reels in the display cases at dicks, so I would be skeptical.

Not only would I have bought it, I would have bought a new rod for it too.  Can't go wrong, it has a warranty.

Don't know anything about this reel, but the yea sayers, certainly outweigh

the nay sayers. GO FOR IT!

Nah, I won't. Don't have a spinning rod lol.

Sounds like a great deal though. Go for it.

I had to replace a spool for my Pfueger Supreme last year and I was able to find a ton of them online as people sell models that are broken etc. for half of what the company wanted, but a new spare spool is only $12-$15 so you could save a bit more...

The Patriarch is a Fantastic reel, I would put it in the same level as the stradic but that is just my opinion, I like Pfueger spinning reels alot and I have some baitcasters which are old but they never die, so a bit heavy but grab that reel for $99, Dicks is good with warranty as well.

Great Find...Rods are on sale all over at awesome prices...

UPDATE:  Went back last night and picked it up.  So glad i did too.  the kid i initially talked to was nice and helpful, but not the most knowledgable.  i went back last night and found the one guy that i'm certain knows what's going on and is definitely a fisherman himself.  thankfully he dug around and found a brown color envelope that said "patriarch reel" on the outside of it.  inside was the box, folded, with everything.  papers, cover, extra spool!  Was just too good to be true i thought!  I dropped the $75 pretty quickly and ran away like the christmas bandit.
