What is your favorite bait to rig on a dropshot and how do you rig it?

My favorite since I've discovered them is the Biospawn plasma tails, which are comparable to the robo worm but in my opinion offer a bit more. They have a sleek and flimsy tail, while this makes them less durable, it also increases the action tenfold. This fickle drawback is compensated by the price differences when comparing them to other popular baits of similar presentation. They are quite versatile as you can nose and wacky hook them or switch over to a small Texas or Carolina rig and they work just as great.

I've had little success with soft jerk/fluke style baits on drop shot.  I have caught dinks and bluegill with wacky rigged worms, but few keepers.

I like a gold/clear w/ gold flake berkley twitch tail minnow ( powerbait ) and 4" straight tail worm. I like a 3" size really well, I always seem to do better..

Z Man 4" Finesse Worm and Strike King 4" 3X Elaztech finesse worm. They are the same bait, each has some different colors.

3" Gulp leech, Powerbait twitch tail minnow, 4" Havoc bottom hopper, Havoc Money Maker,  and the small  Havoc Pit Boss.

They seem to change season to season.

 

This year started with a nose hooked Baby Rage Craw.

 

As the season progressed a standard Rage Craw rigged on a 2/0 Gamakatsu Offset EWG Worm Hook was The Deal.

 

It's almost like fishing live bait - it was That Good.

all depends on where im fishing. Great lakes its hard to beat a reins bubbling shaker or kvd dream shot. three rivers in pittsburgh you cannot beat a jackall cross tail shad. and the lakes in my area i rig a 3 inch or 4 inch paddletail swimbait on a drop shot and fish fast with it. really hard to beat that technique on some days

I had good luck this year with the Zoom Z Drop.  Durable bait that is inexpensive and effective.

Zoom Meathead, Zman finesse worm, Berkley power minnow, all nose hooked. 

I fished a tournament on Coeur d'alene lake (predominantly smallies) where it was strike king only baits and we ended up using the dream shot and fat baby finesse worms. The dream shot had a nice actions but we couldn't catch a fish bigger than 14", however when we switched to the fat baby finesse both my partner and I started catching everything 2 lbs and up. They are perfect when hooked wacky and get to the bottom really fast which ended up making the bite in the super clear water. 

 

Watermelon red flake is the go-to color here for any soft plastic.

Suprised no one has mentioned Kietech's Live Impact's or swing impacts for dropshots.  But will say Robo worms and Zman Finesse worms are also great choices as well.

Interesting.  I used to use french fry lures quite a bit, but for some reason, they've worked their way to the bottom of my tackle bags.  I don't read much about their use on here, but I'm glad for the reminder.  I'll have to take some out this coming spring.

I used to use a similar bait called the sniper bolt by sniper lures that was less porous but had the same great action. Killed the smallies.

I like a Keitech easy shiner for drop shot.  I will go to a Keitech swing impact if i want more action.  I will also often use a roboworm fat.  I always by threading the bait on the hook shank. I don't nose hook often.  I will wacky rig the bait if the fish are biting short.
