so i finally broke down and made a small order after reading about them on here all the time. just wanted to see a few - dip my toe in the water so to speak.

and all i can saw is WOW!!!! amazing jigs. Im going to place another order in the next day or two.

But my question is, what are your favorite, most productive Siebert Jig colors?

I dont really have a favorite...but cali craw looks absolutely sick.

Don't get too sucked into jig colors. Sure, I like fancy colors as much as the next but 90% of the time, Green Pumpkin and Black/Blue will get the job done for you.

I bought two of the jig packages last year each with five colors and it covers all my basic conditions. Pick what head style you prefer and go for it. I have the brush and football heads and have yet to hang any of them up even in the thick stuff. Next on my list are swim jigs in bluegill bream and sunfish patters and possibly a spinner bait or two come spring time.

With jigs I keep it simple. I use a green, a brown, and a black and blue. So I usually will just order green pumpkin, brown craw, and black and blue.

He doesn't make a bad color. I have probably bought between 1 to 5 of about 75% of the colors he offers.

Agree, this is the only two colors that I throw, well at least 90% of the time.

I buy Mike's jigs in mainly three colors with a couple of variations.  I use combinations 2 and 3 the most.  To simplify my colors revolve around green pumpkin, blue-black, and brown.

1. Green pumpkin head and skirt (Used with green pumpkin and summer craw RageTail craws)
2. Green pumpkin head and grasshopper skirt (Used with same as number 1)
3. Blue-black head and skirt (Used with blue-black and okeechobee craw RageTail craws)
4. Brown head and PBJ skirt (Used with dirty craw, amber green, and occasionally falcon lake RageTail craws)
5. Brown head and pumpkin gold orange skirt (Used with same as number 4)

All the Siebert skirt colors I haven't bought yet haunt my dreams.

I only fished these jigs for the first time last summer; so far I have gotten the most mileage out of the pumpkin/orange, green craw, and green pumpkin/purple. I try to match the base color of jigs to bottom composition and water color/clarity where I fish, and then whatever highlight colors give a little extra contrast that looks good.

Have not fished them yet, but there are a number of patterns that I'm sure will do fine in mid MI.  To the response that advocated just two colors, I have two comments.  First, there is a lot more to enticing bass to bite than can be handled by two colors.  Especially when one considers that this forum covers the country, not just a county.  Second, all the planning and agonizing about colors and size and whatever else is a lot of fun.  I love catching fish, but almost as much fun is the planning and prep, selecting what to take (sorry, I cannot take it all), and predicting which pattern of Siebert's jigs, or whatever else I'm considering, will be effective that day.  Bass fishing is not a black and white world.

@MickD: I don't deny that there are times when bass will bite other colors better, but I think you'd be pretty hard pressed to find bass that won't bite those two colors. And yes, I love color patterns as well. It's easy to get sucked into them if you're a beginner though.

PBJ for my browns

And Black/Blue

I have all three off these colors in Derocker, and Arky.
