I'll probably grab a copolymer line to try this year. What brand are you guys recommending? And for what fishing applications is best to use a copolymer? Thanks.

Mccoy Extra clear. Use for squarebills, spinnerbaits, really any moving bait does it excel.

 

I like P-line flouro clear. It's cheap, reliable, and it's great for crankbaits. It did get quite a bit of memory at the end of the season, but it didn't cause any problems for me on a baitcaster. Also, I only tried the 12 lb test. 

I know there is better out there, but if it works fine, I see no reason to start buying expensive stuff right off the bat. 

On the recommendations of a lot of guys here I bought a bulk spool of "Izorline". Can't remember the price off hand, but it was very inexpensive.

I, too, like Pline Floroclear; however, it gets a lot of "hate"
here. But I've used it from 6-15 lb with great success.

Currently I have a ton more Yo-Zuri Hybrid that I'm going
through now. 

IMHO, you'll do fine with either of these lines. P-Line is
a bit more slick than YZH, so tie some good knots.

Or try some Silver Thread AN40.  I've got some 6# Silver Thread Excalibur I'm trying, and also have some Izorline XXX Super to give a shot. I think most any brand will probably be pretty decent.  Pick one and go fishing. 

I've had good success with P-Line CX.

I have been throwing yozuri copoly  now for several years, I use it for almost all my applications except for Frogging and Punching. I throw 12-15 lb.

Silver Thread AN40. I've been using this for years. Really good spinning reel line too. Never had a line twist.

I've tried Yo-Zuri Hybrid, P-line CXX, and P-Line Fluoroclear.  Liked Yo-Zuri the best and the CXX the least.

Mccoy!!. its all i use for everything cept one setup with braid.  great stuff

+1 for mccoys. I'm a believer.

I use YHB in 10 for most stuff except heavy cover where I use braid.

Pline CX premium.

Cxx will never break on  you but I hate it way to much memory. Try pline CX premium its good stuff.

I can't speak for any one other than Yo-Zuri Hybrid (Fluorocarbon/Nylon) as it's the only one I've ever used.  I'm very happy with it, so I see no reason to try anything else. 

Izorline xxx is extremely strong with less memory than CXX and cheaper than YZH.

Maaaan I just bought cxx to try without even looking at reviews. I guess I could use it as a leader that way it stays straight most of the time. If all else fails, backing material.

Try them all for yourself, these lines are inexpensive and you may prefer one over the others.

 

McCoy CBF is on every reel I own. Absolutely the best in my opinion.

McCoy Mean Grean or Xtra Clear is pretty much all I use.  10-12lb on everything but heavy cover applications.

another line to really consider is Gamma Co - Poly , the line is the strongest per diameter( yes , stronger than CXX and Yo-Zuri Hybrid ) and very manageable !! i used to use Izorline XXX for my swimbaits but have since changed to Gamma and am sold on their strength , reliability , and low stretch . i also have 4 lb. on my spinning rod and 8 lb on my casting rod .

You might be alright.  I have a friend that used 15# CXX on all his baitcast reels.  Don't know if that is still true as he has a lot more reels than when I fished with him.  It is a very abrasive resistant line.  Izorline Platinum is another excellent abrasive resistant line.....but again with more memory than many.  I'd try using some line conditioner on it before every outing.  Maybe a spritz every few hours while on the water.

 

 

Lots of very good copolymers to choose from. I have used over a dozen. Satisfied with Sufix ProMix, Berkeley Trilene, Yozuri Hybrid, P-Line FluoroCLear and Sunline.  Prefered P-Line till I started using SufixProMix and have been very happy with the Sufix. I doubt you'll be disappointed with any of the major label products.

I have three dozen baitcasters with a few different brands (many with braid and fluoro also) and use the copolymer - usually Sufix, or Trilene for topwaters and when wanting to keep a bait shallow with the line's floating characteristics.

Pline C21 or Xtra strong. 

Just tried Hi Seas Grand Slam Select that I picked up at the Classic this weekend. Very impressed!
