Decided to try some braided line because, well ,that's all I had at the time.  What kind of knot should I use to set up a Texas rig?

I use a palomar for virtually everything. I haven't found a line it doesn't work well with yet as long as you tie it correctly. 

Palomar here as well.

Never ever had an issue with the san diego jam tied properly which isnt hard

Another vote for Palomar knot but for some of the mono rigs and treble baits I have started experimenting with the fishnfool knot. It seems to work pretty well and is suppose to be one of the strongest.

Palomar for every line type here, too...

Try tying a variety of knots to find one you like.

Just remember this: "If it ain't perfect, it ain't good enough".

 

Palomar with braid and San Diego Jam with fluorocarbon. 

As everyone else said, I use a palomer knot for everything.  The only thing I do different with straight braid is wrap the braid around the eye twice before starting the knot, don't know if it helps or not but I figured it might help prevent slippage. 

The Uni Knot for everything.

as long as the bait isnt long and covered in hooks, a palomar knot for braid  and mono/hybrid and a carefully tied palomar knot for FC.

I use the Pitzen (16/20) for every type of line.  It is quick and I can tie it in the winter with my gloves on in just a few seconds.

Palomar with braid/Gliss;  San Diego Jam for all others. 

I tie the same knot on all of my lines except for when I pitch and punch, then I switch over to the snell knot.

Your going to get many different answers since there are many knots you can use for a Texas rig.I use the uni knot and I have never had the knot slip on any of the big bass I have caught.

The Palomar is an easy knot to tie, but more difficult to tie correctly.....

While many anglers love it, but those that make their living fishing, shy away

If I had to go with one knot it would be the improved uni

I use the Trilene knot for every line type (braid, fluoro, mono) and have no issues.

A Palomar and Uni knot are reliable on all types of line, if well tied.

Yup.

Palomar for mono and copolymer too. I tie the SDJ with my big baits because it takes a ton of line to tie a palomar around a big swimbait. 

San Diego jam or a uni. Neither are actual knots but are slips.
