Not to throw a wet blanket on your great showing, but Jones was in 12th after day 3 while Fieder slipped to 34th and Pipkins took a nosedive to 48th (did he even fish on Saturday? :) ).  Had those last two not slipped, I dare say you were on the way to a very memorable performance.

Great job!!

No complaints from me! 2015 Lake Guntersville I picked the winner and got 4 in the top 12. This is my second best showing. And thanks for the support ??.

Always a class act to watch KVD. He's scary good. Huge congrats to him on his 24th. Do I wish I had picked him? Yeah. But I'm still glad that my bucket A pick went though to today even though I didn't have Kevin.

I'm moving on to Lake Champlain sitting third in the group and in the 96th% overall....I'm excited for this next one.

Points wise, Tharp was the choice - one of the few times a Bucket A choice will give you some distance on the rest of the field.  I think the other difference maker will turn out to be Mueller in buck

If you look at the way that points are awarded in Fantasy Fishing rules, you are awarded the same number of points no matter how many other people have picked a particular angler. HOWEVER, (my pers

KVD is a legend, no doubt about that.  The fact that he beat second place by 8 pounds was incredible. He kept bringing in big bags for 4 days. That takes a lot of skill.

First . for Champlain .  I was last in this group for  the second time , so  no one will copy off me .

I finished in the 95th percentile this event. Had Pipkens and Feider not slipped, I'd really be up there. Regardless, this event moved my season from the 89th%, to 94th%.

As for our BR Crew standings, I'm in 7th and less than 200 points out of first. Our top 11 guys are all within 340 points of first place. These last couple events could really shake up our standings.

that tournament isn't until Aug 7-11 lol

I may actually make it down to OCM to see part of the weighins this year.

I feel pretty good about A,B and C, but buckets D and E have me stumped. Not much recent history on Champlain and those bottom bucket guys aren't having good years anyway. Decisions, decisions.... :goofy1:

x10 except bucket D has potential

I took a gamble on bucket E. Bucket D i went with a a guy that's showing a pattern every 3 tournaments. A B and C I like my picks.

Yeah, you're right. There are 2 guys I'm thinking of for D, one has great history but has been up and down this year. The other doesn't have as much history but is generally more consistent, although he isn't having a stellar year either. I'm sure I will choose the wrong guy.

He he, I ruined my season by forgetting my password.  So I had to create another account under the same name, I'm still in but obviously I can't have a decent score starting from scratch at this point in the season.  Oh well, I guess I can just add the points I get to my previous accounts total.

I'm going boom or bust on this one. Could be an interesting tourney.

I put a lot more thought and research into this week.  That combination usually leads to disaster.  A-D is solid.  E is a crapshoot, but I'm happy with my pick.

Put in my usual research for the rosters this week - a lot more research went into this event than the last one.

I have what I think is a solid roster, and a couple of secrets/dark horses that I think will do pretty well. Time will tell if they pay off, but I think it's time to return to my roots and put a couple of dark horse guys on my roster.

I think the hardest part was picking between Lefebre, Powroznik, and Feider in Bucket B. They're all studs and I think they will all do really well here.

Bucket A is full of talent; you could pick someone with your eyes closed and they would do well. I had to decide between the AOY contenders and the people who will also do well but aren't at the top.

I would like to see a tough tourney where limits are rare and the anglers have to grind it out . These shootouts are like  watching  an action movie. Heck guys are catching limits thirty minutes after take off .

Yeah, and 0-0 9th inning pitching battles and 15-15 NFL kicking battles are fun to watch too... Oh yeah, and watching paint dry.  LOL

LOL .  I love a pitchers duel and despise home run derbies .

I think I am going to let my kids pick this week.  They can't do any worse than me.

Day one on Lake Champlain was cancelled due to weather.

Here's what I've got going:

Bucket A: Jamie Hartman

This was a no brainer for me; not only is he from NY and killing the elite series on his rookie year, he has way more experience on this lake than most of the other guys do. He's fished it a lot and even has a win here in an FLW tournament. Despite an article just published on bassmaster describing him being in "panic mode" this week because he's never fished this lake under the current conditions, I'm hoping he'll do well here. (Although that article was a little scary). I also wanted to pick Brandon Palaniuk and Jacob Wheeler.

Bucket B: Dave Lefebre

I wanted Dave on my team for two reasons. For one, like Hartman, he probably has the most experience on this lake out of all the Elite guys and he's really good here. He's been getting top tens on Champlain for a very long time. Secondly, I wanted someone who has the guts to run down to Ticonderoga and fish for largemouth and Dave has always done that here. I also wanted to pick Jacob Powroznik and Seth Feider.

Bucket C: Skeet Reese

While history played a key role in me picking the other two guys previously, Skeet doesn't have a lot of history here except a 2nd place finish. But I know the level of competition that Skeet is capable of, and I know he doesn't belong in bucket C. With the Classic on everybody's mind, I predict Skeet will perform well here. I considered Kennedy and a couple other guys, but ultimately went with Skeet.

Koby Kreiger

Just like Hartman and Lefebre, I was surprised to see -not just how many times Kreiger has fished this place - but how many times he's been in the money. He obviously has something figured out about Lake Champlain, and for that reason he ended up on my roster. I surprised myself by passing up Justin Lucas and Chad Pickens here.

Bucket E: Jesse Tacoronte

With a bucket utterly devoid of active success, my goal for bucket E was to find literally anyone with some experience on the lake. Turns out, Jesse has had two very solid tournaments here recently in the Bassmaster Opens, and for that reason I chose him for my team (at considerably low ownership). Whether or not he's the secret weapon I'm hoping for, I didn't feel like I could rely on anyone in his bucket and he seemed like he had the best chance.

Let the games begin (tomorrow)! I'm a little nervous about my picks. We shall see.

Wow, this could really change things up.

"Weldon noted that Elite Series rules call for the full field of 109 anglers to compete on Friday and Saturday, and the final round will include the Top 51 competitors on Sunday."

Not sure if I'm a fan but I guess that's the best they can do.

  • Super User

I'm surprised today was cancelled . The weather doesnt appear severe .

  • Global Moderator

Trip Weldon went out on the lake to see for himself, and some of the anglers who are staying on the lake were lobbying for it to be canceled today. Jonathan VanDam said this is the worst lake to have a north or south wind and I believe it's out of the north today.

My guesses were Hartman, Lefebre, Avena (gambling on this pic), J. Lucas, and Omori. Not sure how the 1st day cancelation is going to affect the final day scoring.

I hope the fish have lockjaw .
