I know everyone is tired of seeing it, but my gently used tungsten 2 tap is currently my favorite.  I'm also a big fan of the Xcaliber (now Booyah), lipless baits.   I'd probably b

Nice "starter" kit.:P

The original yozuri rattling vibe is king for me casting/covering water. R.E.S. for jigging/yo yo retrieves.

Classic Bill Lewis trap does it all quite well. One trick I use If theres alot of grass is cut the middle treble, (the one which would point forward if you're retreiving). You don't foul up as bad and can bang the bait into things a bit more.

I've been throwing Rat l Traps for years. I'm really high on the Super Nova series. I like 5/8oz best. Colors are great. Pick your poison.

Has anyone fished the Academy H2O lipless cranks? If so how do you like them?

Like many others the 1/2 ounce RES and one not mentioned yet the 1/2 ounce rippin rap. The rippin rap was decent, but seemed to trigger less strikes on a day when pike and musky were jumping out of the water to grab the RES. There is a place for both, just need to figure out which is better when.

I have a few of the 5/8 RT by H20.  I just bought them recently, so I haven't fished them a whole lot.  I think I've only caught one fish with them and it was on the ghost shad color.  They cast well and have good vibration.

I might give them a try in either the 3/8oz or the 5/8. I have been really happy with other H2O baits.

They are good baits, just haven't fished them enough.  I love their CRS.  Awesome colors and action for only $3.99.  Their small profile CRM is also sweet (Medium diving squarebill also for only $3.99).  Sometimes you can catch certain colors on sale for .98 cents or $1.98, which is a crazy value.  I'd like to know the manufacturer that produces them and see what other brands are built in the same factory.

Not meaning to hijack the thread... sorry.

Anyone remember what the name of this color was? I am thinking sunset or sunrise something.....

Rat L Trap in gold/black. I bought an Academy H2O Xpress Rattlin' T. It worked well at my buddy's pond. But the next time out with a different fellow, he flat smoked me with a CC Super Spot in gold. I caught two dinks and he caught 6, two over 3 lbs and lost the best one of the day at the boat.

I bought that exact pack and still have the small one . That's a good bait . I can remember one spring pitching it into brush piles and catching keeper bass .

Most of the time I am fishing with Rat-l-traps or Cordell Super Spots.  Chrome/blue back, Smokey Joe, and Natural Craw are the three colors I start out with.

I've usd a bunch of different brands and still go back to the good `ol original Bill Lewis trap. In fact, just this last fall I was out and putting a good hurtin on em with a red craw trap (imagine that...) till I broke it off. After all the tears and screaming, I composed myself, and tied on the only other red trap I had which was a RES. The bite almost shut off for me with that bait. My buddy even said he could hear a difference in sound when I would rip the RES in comparison to the Bill Lewis trap. Needless to say I ordered 6 more that night.

I've always stuck with Rapala Rattlin' Raps and Lewis Rat L Traps the most.  I've got some one knocker Rapala Clackin' Raps I haven't tried yet but I figure I'll like them too.

I found 2 packs of that color and 1 pack of rayburn red in an old box of lures I had stashed away. I opened a pack of the sunset (still unsure on color name) and the rayburn and tossed them in my lipless box. I also found an old Cordell Rattle Spot Minnow in smokey joe....I will try that this spring if we ever thaw out.
