That's a sweet catch man them post spawn females look so deceiving but once you see how skinny they get it makes sense.

  • i rarely fish it. its a real pain of a 1 hour drive for me to get there. but......... cant complain about it that much when you can catch these in it once in a while.

  • April 15 Marsh creek reservoir. Windier than I expected. Having pedals made it barely manageable to get into position. Sun popped out for a few hours and I was targeting stumps and brush with a white

Last week at Marsh Creek totals between me and my friend's three fishing outings:

Saturday: Two fish, 2.5lb and 1.5lb

Monday: Six fish, five of which were between 1.5 and 2, with one at 3.4.lb

Thursday: Six fish, all between 1.5 and 2

Killer bite right now up shallow post-spawn

Fished my cabin in promised land state park. Caught 7, missed like 4. My Hook set game was weak this morning. Biggest was around 2.5. Nothing huge, but pretty consistent action.

I fished there 3 weeks ago. 7 bass 7 pickerel....and one was the biggest pickerel I've ever caught! It was huge!!! Wish I would have gotten a pic.

6 hours at Beltzville today and all I have to show for it is a lot of lost jigheads, almost sunk the boat with a bad plug, lost 3 bass and only landed 1 bass.  But it was a beautiful morning!

I live about 15min from Beltzville and rarely go there... Has to be the hardest body of water in the Northeast to catch anything!

my buddy caught a 5.5lb pocono tank this past weekend there. biggest fish i've seen out of there yet. before that it was a 4.5 i caught last summer. we've been killing it there in promised land

I know they were killing the stripers with a-rigs a few weeks ago but our little boat isnt safe out in the middle.  Lol

The night bite has been pretty sweet for me these last few weeks. the chatterbait and the buzzbait is what i throw. the chatterbait  has been dominating so far.

Caught a 2 pounder from marsh, buddy caught a 1.8 and a few fish missed targeting cover from boat

@YoTone dang gotta get out there at night sometime, just bought a jackhammer, we'll see if it lives up to the hype or if I'm about to have a $17 snag lol

I hope you're going to use it only on the water and not from the bank. That's a scarey risk to Use on a lure that gets hung up easily.

I'm going to try using it only on the water, around weed lines and similar type stuff, but I still feel like I could get hung up on something ?

It'll be fun while it lasts, though

How are you working the chatter at night, steady retrieve? And a dark color I assume? Can never figure out if I should work it like a jig or steady retrieve

just a steady retrieve buddy.  my chatterbait is usually the same for day or night which is with a bluegill/green pumpkin skirt.

but there are times where i do aim for the weeds and rip/pop it out. ive had some of my most violent strikes from the biggest bass ive caught using that technique.

Edit

I was planning to stay in and not bike out to my pond but after I wrote My response it gave me the itch to go for a few minutes. Good move for me and not so good news for these guys. Just as i said before I aimed for the weeds and as soon as i popped it out they hammered it.

Wallenpaupack can be very tough. I recommend Fairview lake a few miles down the road, no hp restriction but a speed limit instead. Also blue marsh and beltzville can be fun. Not many other options in eastern pa that I know of with no hp limit

Something about stocking fish in a pond is so satisfying. My dad had a 1/4 acre pond built on the farm when I was a teenager. Almost 20 years later, re-energizing the genetic pool with 11 yellow perch (6-7"), 6 bass 7-9", 18 channel cats, 200 fathead minnows, 100 1-2" bluegill, and 6 koi.

I know it's a relatively small amount but exciting for me nonetheless

Nice man!

Those channel catfish might take out your gamefish tho, watch out!

we've had channel cats in there for about 15 years. some of them are mid-20's (inches). They have pretty small mouths so even a 4" bluegill is a serious challenge for them I imagine. If I flatheads in there, that would be another story entirely haha

My farm pond got over taken with weeds last year, we had 3-4 bass in there over 3 pounds. Now it’s all dinks and weeds ?

Green lane reservoir opens today for quarantined boats! Hallelujah

The bigguns are still in there unless someone removed them.

Hitting nockamixon in the morning...thinking I am going to throw large baits for 8 hours.

My friends and I rent a house on Fairview Lake, a couple of times a year. As an encouragement, this one was caught in Fairview Lake.  Another spot would Shohola Lake, it's shallow and weedy but has some big bass and chain pickerel in it.

What could possibly go wrong ? I’m planning on doing the same at green lane
