There’s no doubt in my mind we’ll pay for this weather in the coming weeks or months.

It kind of reminds me of one of the final scenes in the movie The Perfect Storm (the movie about the Gloucester boat Andrea Gale). They battle the storm then the seas calm, the sun peaks out, the deckhand thinks they’ve made it but the captain knows they’re not so lucky.

Remember that one well.

My wife and I were on the water through much of that.  Along with our crews, we both saved several lives; Very intense.   The movie was decent too.

  • This pic is actually from the first morning of the storm.    It's Lynn's crew on the way out the inlet in Scituate, MA. These surf boats, although no longer in service, were self-right

  • If we had that weather, there would be no milk available in the entire state

I was wondering if you were stationed in the area during that time. I couldn’t imagine being in angry water like that. The men and women of the USCG are some brave souls that’s for sure!

These surf boats, although no longer in service, were self-righting; meaning when there was a wave big enough to roll it over (capsize), the next one would re-right it.

Only problem was, we had to hold our breath while we waited.

(Usually 30-45 seconds - which can seem quite a bit longer hanging upside down under water)

Oh, and hope the engines were still running when it did.

At least one usually would.

And this was all kinds of fun At Night !

I believe it's fair to say that 'rough water' can often be a relative term.

Try it in a canoe...idiots near swamp me every time they pass by - even at 100yds distance

We've had mid 30s the past few days with rain today. Ice is probably thinning and I expect to see some 'dunking' reports.

I have sweated through my clothes fishing the last two days

I’ve sweated through my cloths the past 24 hours too....because of the flu. The wife got it a week ago and still isn’t 100%. My son got it 2 weeks ago.

Oh dear that’s not the good kind of sweating. I hope everyone gets rid of that ASAP

We’re going from 50* and rain as we speak to 4-7” on snow by Tuesday morning.

On the brighter side of things the “flu” I thought I had doesn’t appear to be the flu because it’s on it’s way out. As soon as I started to feel a little off Thursday night my wife made me take a couple shots of elderberry she picked up. She just read about it and had me try it. She’s just now after a week (She didn’t take it soon enough to help her) starting to get back to herself, it’s only been 2 days for me, so I’ll choke that stuff down. It’s expensive but worth it.

The lake opened up, the temps dropped 20 degrees, the wind is blowing, it’s about to snow 1.5”/hr, what else could go wrong? Nothing because the new season of Zona started today!!!! @Ztrain hopefully this year you listened to me and recorded at least 25 episodes! Lol Looking forward to the new season.

We got about 3" of packed snow yesterday on top of the ice resulting from the rain the days before. Shoveling and sanding done on the porch/sidewalk and the truck extracted from it's parking slot.

My grandson got a quick bout of the flu. Had a 101 fever yesterday and is ok today. If he's still good tomorrow, it's off to the Shedd Aquarium since he loves fish. https://www.sheddaquarium.org/plan-a-visit?utm_source=target&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=primary_campaign&gclid=Cj0KCQiAgKzwBRCjARIsABBbFujbe0ncAsaoDuRIk6GVjHFszt8kAcVZeY8EIpekrmKbDaduVJg1BmcaAvhhEALw_wcB

We had ice and snow yesterday into today, then a melt and now a refreeze with snow showers overnight to welcome in the new year

Two days of wind and low 30's. New Year's day: low 40's and sun. Gonna try to get that Jan. bass on the books right away.
