Has anybody heard about this rig? 

I've seen it in many European youtubers videos, it looks pretty good.

 

 

What's the difference between the Cheburashka rig and a swinging jig-head?

Just a simple swing head? Already a thing in bass fishing. It's a popular choice in rocky lakes around here. It's one of the techniques I plan to work on this season.

If it's named after anyone it should be Tommy Biffle who made the swing head jig popular using his Biffle Bug rig.

Haha. Does the name of rig change completely just because of a different style hook, weight, or jig head? Once again I've been throwing swimbaits on swinghead for years and never heard of CHEB. Maybe they came up with a new name by using an elaztech swimbait?? Its all about selling product people. If you can't sell a lure in 2020, call it a finesse lure and it's sold

That’s a good point about selling. Honestly I don’t know. The argument of ned rig vs jig worm is a pointless one, even though I have to admit they’re similar and maybe I’m just in denial. What I wanna know now is if the ned rig and jig worm are the same technique then what does that make the shaky head? Just another jig worm? ?

I think so , ten years ago I called a jig worm the poor man's Shakey head. Now I call it poor man's ned rig. At any rate, jig worm is cheaper than both. Fish are primitive, salesmen are not 

I'll be damned...I didn't know I was I was doing European stuff.  I thought it was just a swing head.

I don't always throw a swing head but I look good when I'm doing it.

When I first heard about 'shaky heads', i thought, "isn't that just a jigworm?" I've come to realize it's best to think of jig worm, shakey head, and ned rig as techniques rather than lures. i.e., probing weedlines and dropoffs vertically, vs. shaking on bottom, vs. no-feel swim/shake/glide.

 

I have only used it with craws and creature baits. Learned about it a few years ago when Zona was fishing Lake Menderchuck

Is Chebrushka Tommy's middle name?

Perhaps Chebrushka means Biffle Bug in European talk.   True fact, some of those people talk different than me, and it might be possible that they have different word for similar baits/rigs/ techniques than I do.  I'll tell you what, all you Chebrushka rig throwing guys, while I furloughed,  wander over to mid- Missouri and I'll show you how to throw a Biffle Bug on rocky, gravely, stumpy points on Truman Lake and save a couple of syllables in the process.  Actually any Ozark lake will do, but I have most experience on Truman.

In all seriousness, I've been using the structurehead jigs for a few years now on creature baits. Hookup percentage is better than any other jig presentation. Injuries to the bass are up as well. I can say I have had more bass hooked thru the eye on a structurehead than any other bait.

I honestly don't understand how I didn't notice this was a swing jig head so many rigs look the same but are different at the same time.
