Hi all!

 

Can y'all help me out with id'ing this fish? I've only been fishing for about 3 months now, and this is the first one like this I've caught.

    Looks like a Green Sunfish to me - yes, that's a species like Bluegill, Pumpkinseed, Longear, etc.

    Another vote for rock bass. Did it vibrate when you lipped it? Lol.

    It looks like a rock bass, but wherever i have fished rock bass always have red eyes. Never seen one with black eyes.

    Picture wasn't the best. It actually did have an outside red ring.
