  • I would never use 12 lb flouro on a spinning reel. Way to heavy a line for that.

  • Don't forget about the daiwa Revros LT. Its right at $50 retail and can be found for less online. Its a nice reel for the money.

Ummm - good luck on that. My Trions retail for around $40 and while they're well made and I enjoy using them...I don't expect a lifetime of service from them...and I'm 60, so lifetime is a relative thing.

Also I amusing 12 lbs main line fluorocarbon and need a reel that holds a good amount but not an extreme amount fish i target mainly are bass pike, pickerel, catfish and carp and around here the trout season i dread pre and post ice

Thank you for the quick replies i have an ugly stik with the reel and its on its way out

If lures matter i mainly use senkos and live bait

Pflueger Trion, but even with the best care, it won't last "forever."

Double-down on that. I have a Trion 30...on a Medium/Fast rod. Probably my most used spinning rig.

If you can get $10 more, get the Daiwa Regal LT for $59.95.

It's like people saying "Don't use higher than 8# Yo-Zuri on spinning reels". I had 10# on my Trion-30 last year, used KVD and had no issues. The 10# is now on my Trion-35.

KVD Line and Lure is the only thing I do. I'm sure its fine to dunk the spool but I'm simply not a fan of dunking anything or getting water into any parts of a reel purposefully.

If you choose to dunk the spool, just make sure to remove the drag stack first and fully dry that area prior to reassembly.

The way I heard it explained, you dunk the plastic spool the line is sold on, then you spool it up on the reel.

Don't forget about the daiwa Revros LT.

Its right at $50 retail and can be found for less online. Its a nice reel for the money.

I'd take a Revros over a President or Trion any day of the week. I own all 3 and the Revros performs well above it's price tag. It's outlasted my Supreme XT I bought at the same time in fact. The new Pfluegers just aren't what they use to be.
